I hit the 5 years smoke free mark in November.
And like you, I quit cold turkey.
Went from 210 lbs to 240 lbs practically overnight. God that sucked.
I don't think it was from the lack of nicotine, it was because I realized food actually had flavor!

I'm still at the "Godammit I want a SMOKE!!!!" phase. I stopped on Dec 26th of last year. Didn't want to do it on new years.....its too cliche' LOL.I live on the edge of danger facing life and death every single day.....then I leave her at home and go disarm bombs.Comment

I'm smoked like like a fuggin' chimney..2 packs a day since I was 13. I quit when my son was born, and never went back.
Going on 15 years now..best thing I ever did! Besides jerkin' off all over myself!

I've never tried it and I have no intention of ever trying it. about 50% of my school smokes but I choose to hang out with people who don't stink (Both figuratively and literally). All the wannabe gangster kids do it to look "cool". Most of them have the personality of a piece of wood and do it to try to fit in. Plus cigarettes are up to over 8 dollars a pack now, and the fact that it's all tax just makes it all that easier to say forget it.
I don't buy brand name cigarettes i roll mine own so it's still pretty cheap, under 2.50 last a few days but it will go up as well so i gotta face up to it.
Thing is, i'll probably have to quit coffee for a while at the same time, and i think that would be even harder
