          Holmstrom - 10/257
          Datsyuk - 6/171
          Zetterberg - 7/210
          Osgood - 3/54

          Just to name a few.

Over the years did have a high payroll but a significant portion went to guys that weren't high draft picks. Yzerman was a first rounder and the fourth pick and he was the heart and soul of the team and paid the most for many years.

I understand the hatred but you can't diminish their success because they had a high payroll.
Unlike the Flyers under Clarke who traded all their great draft picks, gave up on them too soon, or ruined their careers by rushing them along ... (Prospal, Fedotenko, Seidenberg, Brian Boucher, Maxime Oulett, Pitkanen, Forseberg, Zubrus... ), or the sixth round pick who murdered a ref last year and buried his body in some forest over in Slovakia somewhere :ROTF:

I think the Red Wings though could have some issues coming up with the Cap, and more than a few guys they are holding their breath on due to their long term deals. How many big bucks guys will need resigned there in a few years? I also have no idea what kind of farm system they have. I do see in the Wings what the Flyers could be in another year or two; depth, offensive fire power, and grit, ie a Dynasty.

Got to say though, the Ducks could have won that first game and did win the second. Detroit needs to clamp down right now or the Ducks could beat them in 6.

The team I REALLY think is going to need to blow up and rebuild right now or they will be in the dumps are the Canadiens. Their average age has to be the highest in the NHL, and Boston just skated around them this year, plus Carey Price is well... Not that I would cry to see them have a few crappy seasons...

And did anyone watch/hear NHL Live today where the VP of NHL's hockey operations said if the replay room can't come to a conclusion on a goal they leave it up to the ref on the ice? WTF IS THAT

Btw, am I the only one who would love to see a Ducks/Hurricanes finals?

                              • Pens lose this series in five. Come on Pens, prove me wrong.

Caps rolled all their lines, and Pens second and third lines looked like AHL fourth liners. Anyone seen Staal or Malkin so far this series? If you do, kindly give them directions to the ice at the Igloo.
