If those conspiracy theorist film makers are right, then everything is a ok economy wise pretty soon except that everything is run by Anglo-American dictatorship organisation

Only good thing about this shit economy, is that I'm getting work FINALLY... Why? Because now I'm an Armed Personal Escort and also do Bank Protection. People are friggin nuts and everyone knows what they'll do to get money.

I'm paid fairly well even, but, I should be... I'm the one that gets shot first of I don't intimidate them enough to not do it in the first place. And some people just don't care...

Wish they'd let me wear a kevlar helmet tho...

heavey taxes need to be instilled on corporations who send jobs outside the borders . The stage has been set for failure...we're in failure mode right now.

We'd have more Americans working if our jobs we not going to India or Mexico. We'd have mroe jobs for Americans if we didnt import people form India who undercut the American worker. I say its about fuckin time we close the fuckin borders to the fuckin melting pot bullshit...that was cool in 1776, not cool in 2009...this is my land motherfucker, not your land

              Ron,
I pay about 200$ a month for family plan/medical/dental/vision - so I would think that 190$ is reasonable(I know it sucks to have to start paying for something you haven't had to before).

There has been a music store walking distance from my house, this store had been there for probably 20 years. It shut down about 2 weeks ago, there are more and more strip malls becoming vacant. Tough times .....

You see the SNL skit with "The Rock" Obama??? Fucking classic... The Rock played Barrack when he "got angry" and went into Hulk mode... With Rahm Emmanuel cheering him on.

Was seriously funny till they f-d up the end. But, it had premise. Dude actually looked like Obama and had a few moments of being close in his phrasing. Cracked me up.

Dude, Cleveland is a ghost town for stores... It's unbelievable. What's left have no inventory. Wallmart and a few other Big Boxes are left weathering the storm. Mom and Pop are floating in the lake rotting along with the dead fish...

Amerika is changing, and I believe it will come back as an actual Fascist state. This will be beyond socialism in the end kids...

Actually, my employer is just disciplining anybody on the top two pay brackets based on sheer "rumor" complaints, myself included. At the beginning of the year, they took on a shitload of newbies, naturally at lower salaries. I know their fucking game. What they're trying to do is force long term staff into leaving by ill-treating them.

Yeah, all this shit is giving employer the leverage to oust highly paid employees and replace with desperate fucks that will work for nadda and low benefits.

The Biz world will heavily restructure all this stuff. Even when the economy picks up, it will just serve to line pockets of management.

                          Saturdays at 11:30 p.m., live coast-to-coast. NBC's Emmy-winning late-night comedy showcase enters its 50th season.

Gotta watch a trailer but it's pretty funny... for a moment... Some bad acting, and approaching tarzan talk. Rahm Emmanuel was funny just with his looks...

Endrik- Thanks for the link on this. I am older, I have been aware of all this for decades. You would be surprised how many people are ignorant to how things really are and/or don't want to hear about it. Times are tough, but only as tough as you make it. I encourage everyone to donate to their local food bank if they can and just be mindful to help others.

I pay about $50 a month for health/dental. I opted out of vision since my eyes are 20/15 and showing no signs of trouble. Although from what I hear, this is a good deal, so I would say $200/month is about average.

I do think I'm lucky for a few things:

#1 - Even if my wife loses her job, we can still pay all of our bills with my salary alone.

#2 - My wife forces me to save money. We have about $15000 saved up right now, just in case something happens.

#3 - South-central PA had a very small housing bubble, so when it burst housing prices didn't dip that much. I have seen more "For sale" signs than normal, but no foreclosure signs.

#4 - The industry I work in actually had a sizeable increase in revenue in 2008. I think we're diversified enough to be able to survive this whole thing. Not to mention that our main line of work (environmental and pharmaceutical testing) is pretty much required by law, so we will always have customers as long as we remain competitive. Our company isn't hiring anyone new, but we're also not firing anyone.

I think that the stock markets have bottomed out. My 401(k) has taken a major hit, but I have a good 30 years until retirement, so I'm not worried about it. If there's one thing the stock market does, it's grow over the longterm.

I think the government should stop throwing money at companies to keep them afloat. Chrysler hasn't made a good decision in 15 years, and they deserve to go bankrupt. GM is trying to turn things around with projects like the Volt, but they focused on SUVs for profits for far too long, even when all signs pointed to higher gas prices. Ford made some smart moves right before the recession hit, so they're doing fine.

Implementing protectionist policies is just ridiculous. The world economy is in the toilet, not just the USA's. The world's countries are too connected these days for any one to survive on its own.

Redistributing wealth is just wrong. Why should I be forced to donate to people who made poor decisions and/or don't work as hard? There are plenty of organizations out there that will help the poor; there's no need for the government to help them too. All that handing out money does is encourage people to not find a new job. My college friend had a job in radio advertising and got fired late last year (no one was buying advertising, so as the newest person there she was let go). Has she been spending these past 5 months looking for another job? No, she's sitting on her ass collecting unemployment checks.

Printing all of this extra money might prop up some badly run companies for a couple of years, but what happens when the economy stabilizes and the dollar is now worth next to nothing?
