Ebay invited me to be a Power Seller do I join?

Ebay invited me today to be a powerseller. Is there a catch to this? Does it cost me more money? Is it worth while to join?

I have used Ebay to buy and sell music gear but I am by no means a dealer or a Carrguitar so I am trying to figure out if I should join or will it put unreasonable expectations on me to meet certain goals or pay more fees in the end?

I ended up joining. I'm yet to find any drawbacks. I haven't had time to sell stuff lately and they sent an email to let me know my status is being monitored. But worse case is that I'll just go back to regular status.

The best part is that you can get some final value fee credits (seems they do this at end of the billing cycle), but I can't fully figure out their system. I sold a couple guitars for several hundred $ each and didn't get any credits. Then I turned around and sold a couple pedals for around $150 and got final value fee credits on those.

An oddity is that I became a PowerSeller back in December 2008 and got the recent "monitoring" email, but just yesterday (4 months later) I got a welcome letter and certificate in the snail mail.

They sent me the invite as well. I started to sign up but then didn't like the part about basically having to sell on a regular basis in order to keep the PowerSeller status and icon. Lord knows what kinda hassle it'd be to get it back later.

Be carefull with some of those invites. Some of those redirect to phishing sites. It happened to me once. I usually spot those fakes right away but I wasn't thinking straight and put my username and password but immediately realized what had just happened and immediately changed my password.
