I was however interested to note that there was a condition of the Captain's life being in "imminent danger". Would seem being kidnapped on a lifeboat with hostile, AK-47 wielding pirates would meet that standard as soon as it walked through the door.

Great job to the USN. I guess they haven't confirmed it one way or the other, but some news stories had him jumping in the water again. Even if he didn't- Offers himself up to protect his crew, then jumps in the water on Friday. The fuckin' balls on this guy.

I don't understand how a bunch of guys in a little dingy can board an oil tanker. They should just carry bowling balls or anvils on the big ships and drop them down on the pirate boats... Threat neutralized.

Yup, they need to move some small gunboats to the area to escort the merchant ships and just start blowing people approaching the threat zone out of the water. The pirates will go back to farming pretty fast.

The problem is how many people pay the ransoms. The pirates think they are playing tag when they do this. They need to learn that "you're it" means a watery grave.
