What you have to ask is:

Why was a ship crewed by Americans in those waters? Obviously not pondlife dipshit Americans, but "handy & tasty" Americans, in view of the fact they regained control of the ship before the pirates bailed out with the captain. Just about every other ship on those seas is crewed by halfwit Philipinos, Asians, whatever, with a couple of Yanks in charge, it's a shit job, poorly paid, and the last thing those guys are going to do when pirates appear is resist, let alone actively fight back.

I reckon those pirates got a nasty surprise when they boarded that ship, expecting to find a few minimum-wagers on board, and came across some well-fed whiteys. So what's the feeling then? CIA? Maybe what used to be called a Q-ship?

One thing's for sure, there is more to this than meets the eye, mark my words........

Pirates are nothing new - particularly in Africa and Asia. I remember when I was in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War there was a big concern over pirates getting at the black bottom boats carrying government/military cargo home. So they were putting Marines and SEALs onboard.
