That would make sense since he has been in office for what 3 months. There needs to be a class war. The population that owns the wealth (like Tommy said the liquid guys) are far out numbered by those that do not. It is time to revolt.

I know lots of kids that are the younger equivalent of that at my school. They have 100%s for marks but if you ask them any question for stuff outside of school they give you a blank stare. People also get such inflated egos now that it drives me nuts. They think because they're good at one thing they're the greatest thing since sliced bread and Jazz III's. I know this one guy who's particularly good at science. It wouldn't be bad if he didn't repeatedly let everyone know that. It's funny because I always correct his spelling and point out his grammatical errors. In the only science I took this year I managed to get a way higher mark than him. My friend refers to him as a pseudointellect. I can't help but agree.

I did purchase firearms and a compound bow last year.. all US made (Mossberg, Remington, Ruger, Mathews Bow). I also bought a Plano case that was made in the US (not all Plano stuff is US made anymore).. but when assembling... the rentention straps in the case were from China! ARGH! lol. I try to avoid Sprawlmart and Target as much as possible... they are some of the biggest high volume Chinese importers.
I refuse to shop at Walmart now. I went there a couple months back because I found an old gift card and it drove me nuts. The "Oprah Informed" mothers that go there are so loud and obnoxious I just about snapped. A lady held up the line because when they scanned in a discount movie she was buying it was $7.99 as opposed to the listed $7.86. She made a big stink and held up the line for about 5 minutes. I just thought "Jeez, it's 13 cents.". I haven't been back since. I buy my games and music at local stores. The owner of the game store is great. He gives me discounts because I'm a regular. The music store owner is hilarious. He puts little quips under band labels that are usually pretty funny. People give me funny looks when I say I go there because they're kind of notorious for selling drug-related stuff. It's funny because I don't do drugs and I go there all the time so people who don't know me think I do. They carry crazy music no where else carries and that's all I care about.

That's how it is here too. People have no patience anymore. If they don't get it now it's not worth their time, even if it will benefit them more to wait.

People think they're the bee's knees and are entitled to things they do not deserve. My dad has worked in the auto industry since before I was born (I think it's his 25th year, so before my big brother was born too) and he is the accounting manager at a GM car dealership. He got some figures from his boss relating UAW workers that work here in Canada and he says that with all their benefits and pensions and whatnot they make the equivalent of about 70-80 bucks an hour. They get paid that much money to put on a couple of screws and check one thing on a car and stand around talking. All you need for that job is a high school diploma. My brother's working hard to get a Journeyman Welding ticket and when he gets it he will make a little more than those factory workers after working for over 3000 hours of real world work and a couple years of school which he has to pay for himself. Something doesn't seem right here.

QFT! There are some guys here that make a career out of it... suck up, swallow, and hold on for dear life. As long as the shark that the remora is attached to is in teh tank, they are OK.
But you ask them a practical question in regards to our business or daily ACTUAL happenings out here in the shop when the shark is not on the premises... get a blank stare, then they ask if I got the latest memo on coversheets for the TPS reports... classic misdirection play ! lol

If all that wealth was spread about to everyone, I can guarantee you that prices on EVERYTHING would go up.

            (making up numbers)

Right now, average person makes $30k/year. Milk costs $3/gallon.

Wealth is distributed, average person makes $70k/year. Milk costs $7/gallon. Businesses fail because there are no rich people to invest in them. Technology stagnates because no one can afford to buy cutting edge electronics.

You're upset that someone makes more than you? Do something about it! Start a business, get higher education, switch careers, get lucky on some investments.

If everyone were wealthy then why would there be no one to invest? Why would that effect the cost of milk? Please expound on how spreading the wealth will cause these things to happen. Also please note I am not talking about one guy or the guy that makes a nice 6 figure salary. I am talking about the people that dictate the way things will be done regardless of what Washington says because they have the money to make it go their way. I am talking about the people whose names are not commonly known. I have no problem with someone that has a Phd making more than me. I do have a problem with a person that sees no problem taking jobs from one country moving them to another country so they can see a .01% profit to add to their billions.

I just want to comment on Unions since they are brought up.

Two different people two different results.

My father was a truck driver and was member of the Teamsters union. They did good by him every step of the way.

I worked in a grocery store. I was also a member of the Teamsters union. The only time we saw our rep was when he swung buy to show off his new BMW.

There was a time and place where union was a good thing and very needed. I think based on laws today that unions are probably more hurtful then good. But I'm in California so I cant say that Unions are bad in Arkansas because I don't know the laws there. I'm not sure you can entirely condem the unions until you know for sure everyone based on law were on the same page / level. if everyone is protected then unions are useless and simply a drain on the persons pay check.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

With wealth distribution do you mean that a lot of money from the rich are taken away and then directly GIVEN to every single person who makes less?
If that's the case I don't see why are you worried about that... things like that have never happened and never will. What has happened is that the money is taken away and kept in pockets of those who are in power.

Anyway about the price thing... I can't really agree with you... for example the average wage in Norway is 50-60K dollars a year and the wages are pretty similar. The wages over here vary greatly, but the average is a little bit over 10K dollars a year. The milk in Norway isn't 6 times more expensive than it's over here, Norway is expensive but I believe milk and many other things are more expensive over here. And both have high economic freedoms like every Nordic county.

The fact is, abolishing unions is just the start. When that goes, the dominoes will keep falling and the middle class will get the shaft in terms of compensation, health care, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Why do you buy the things you buy? I'm sure price plays a role, but I'll bet you're willing to pay more for a product that suits your needs and is of better quality.

Personally I think some of the reasons why the US auto industry is having difficulties is because it is a bit bloated (Chevrolet, Pontiac, and GMC offering too many similar vehicles for example), putting too much emphasis on SUV's and other vehicles with poor fuel economy in a time when gas prices have gone through the roof, the inability to adapt to the global market place/chaging consumer tastes, and producing vehicles of inferior quality/features when compared to some imported brands for example. Also, the fact that the economy has taken a downturn I'm sure hasn't helped. New cars are a luxury item and when people are unsure about their future, they are less apt to buy these types of things.
No, even MSNBC and CNN were on the bash the UAW train. $74/hr is outragous to have to pay to put nothing more than a skilled laborer to work. Oh thank the lord that the UAW dropped it's jobs bank program that was forcing the big 3 to pay laid off workers 95% of thier wages for 3 years.

You said it yourself - Norway is expensive. How much is a pint of beer at a normal bar? Over here it goes between $3 and $5. A quick Google search shows it to be about 50Kr in Norway, which is about $7.50.
