Incredible singer, but I get a feeling the whole thing was staged. I mean, they knew she was THAT good, and just played the whole thing out - to make it more spectacular. Well, rather than focus on the idiots in the crowd (who for all we know were making faces at different points and it got edited) I really focused on her-
You want a story to make you feel good about people she's a decent choice- Yeah, she's not a plastic "hottie", she's a bit older, she's a regular gal from a tiny town who had a dream, never did anything to speak of about it, got caught up in life, like everyone, but one day said, Fuck it, I'm going on TV and I'm going to show people MY gift, whether they deserve it or not.
And we're all guilty of being assholes at times- You judge fuckers every day, we all do, it's human nature. Maybe you don't point and laugh but we all think our thoughts inside our little heads that aren't always the most....kind. If I had been sitting there, I would have been mortified that people were making fun of her, but I probably would have thought, "Well, let's get this cat lady out of here so we can get to the real music".
And then she opened up her pipes and gave everyone a lesson- Doesn't have to be "taught a lesson" or "showed them"....just reminded us that there's a shitload of beautiful stuff out there, not everything is what it seems, and if you're stupid enough to dismiss someone there's a real good shot that you'll deprive yourself of something beautiful and you'll have no one to blame but yourself.
Don't focus on the assholes. They're assholes- They should be ignored. Every second you let your blood pressure rise thinking about them, every moment you waste thinking about them, is a moment you could spend thinking about how a lady just started a pretty wild journey, and how absolutely fucking awesome that is.

Awesome, she was great, i didn't particularly care for the song, but she was great.
that show is a bit staged, which is kinda annoying.
I felt it with the paul potts performance, which was in-F*#%ing -credible as well, that one kinda choked me up, had to be one of the most triumphant performances i ever seen, i watched it a good dozen times, blows me away.Comment
