Not to mention $1500 - $2k for each baby, and at about 3 or more a clutch?

    $$$$

Nah, the real reason is basically she's 14yrs old, my wife and I can handle her like she's a baby, but the kids can't and I want a pet for my kids they can handle, etc. So I think it's time. I know I lose my pet, but if I can find a male that will mate, well it's game on, and about 3-4+ babies a year? Do the math, not to mention some extremely cool birds!!!

Grey's are cool as hell, he/she's prolly got a hell of a vocabulary...

Thing is, many people don't know or understand what they are getting themselves into. A parrot is quite different than a cat/dog type pet. They bond with you so closely its unbelievable. Anyway, I'm sure Pat knows what we're talking about here. In fact I would get another parrot except I know my African Grey would be very jeolous and not approve of that! His name is Ozzy btw and yes, he's got a great vocabularly. Greys tend to be a bit pickier about who they let handle them whereas most Macaws and Cokattoos love to just have their heads scratched. They are all such cool birds! What type of Macaw do you have Pat?

He said he has a Green Wing Macaw. Which is the biggest of the Macaw family. Very cool birds and have gorgeous coloring. They look like a sarlet Macaw but are slightly larger and have green feathers under their wings. I worked in a pet store that had one as a store mascot named Ducky. she was a trip. she chewed holes in my leather jacket i was pissed. But my boss didnt really provide an area to put coats so they ended up on the counter near her cage. So she would chew on poke holes in stuff. Messy frikkin bird but was very cool.
I have a small zoo myself. 2 cats a cockatiel some fish. Thats down from
3 ferrets, 4 hamsters, 3 cats, 2 tiels, 2 parakeets, 3 armadillo lizards, fire belly toads, fire belly newts, and 6 fish tanks. (altho i did have 13 fish tanks runnin at one point. But i moved and lost alost everything and never restocked and ended up tossing some of the tanks cus i didnt have room or the cracked or some stupid reason. Yeah i worked in a pets store at the time. i would take home the turned in pets.

Sorry, I missed the Green Wing part earlier. You are correct, he did state that. All the parrots like to chew on just about everything they can get their beaks on. Despite that I think they are the coolest pets. Just make sure you are ready pretty much for a life long commitment when considering one. Mine is now 13 years old, got him when he was a month old
