  • Living under a rock is awesome!~F Pop Music!

Today, I visited my mommy for mother's day. Gave her a card with money. Hung out with her for a bit. She told me she won VIP concert tickets to the Kings Of Leon show. She handed the envelope to me and there's VIP backsatge passes, Box seating, VIP parking..the works. Sounds nice right? Problem is I never heard of these fuckers in my life. She wanted to give me the tickets, but I miss many shows I do like.

So, I had to check youtube. I type the word "Kings" and bingo..there's a shitload of Kings of Leon links on youtube..with millions and millions of hits. So, I listened to four songs, and I could hardly get through the extremely generic, mundane, dribble of these pigfuckers. So the answers is definitely not!. In fact, You could pay me to see this shit! I thought, well, maybe I may know the opening act. Well, if there is an opener, they're not promoted whatsoever...so fuggums.

My mom was kinda mad I didn't want the tickets. I told her to give them to anyone, friend, co worker, or maybe her and my sister could go..they go everywhere togther.

This confirms how diosconnected I am with the mainsteam and the world. Thye're heavily promoted on TV, now that I'm familar with their stupid name. I wanted to like this, and trying to find ANY redeeming quality that would hold my interest for a good time and free show..but nada..zilch. It's silly how sooooo many people love like this crap, while I'm oblivious to them. Then it hit me like a bolt of lightning, and I became angry at what I already know. If people have this kind of mush for brain matter to be this excited over absolutely nothing..it explains why everything is fucked and why I can't stand tye human race. I view the world as one big, neverending special olympics event.

If anything, I'd like to meet the band just to tell them they truly suck ass! That would be the only thing worth wasting my time on them.

I've only heard one of their tunes and I liked it... it had a cool ballsy fuzz guitar tone and kinda psychedelic vocals... nothing like Coldgay... don't know about the other tunes.

Heh, when I first heard about Paris Hilton, it was through one of those spam mails when that sex tape of hers went circulating. It was all "SEE PARIS HILTON AND HER BOYFRIEND'S SEX TAPE AT THIS AND THIS SITE!" for almost six months long.

My reaction was "What do I care about a sex tape filmed at the Hilton Hotel in Paris?" I simply had no idea that "Paris Hilton" was a name, to me it was just the Hilton hotel in Paris France.

When I found out who that other Paris Hilton, not the building in the capitol of France, was my reaction was "Now there's a woman with an ugly looking face."

Seriously, I find watching cartoon Porno more arousing than seeing HER naked.

Blazer ..you would climb a mountain of broken glass just to get a whiff of her queef!

But I know what you mean! After watching a couple minutes of her vid, I'd rather go to a Kings of Leon concert..followed by an insurance seminar.

Bill, the only reason I can think of to attend the concert is there will be tons of young women there. And since they are in to Kings of Leon chances are they are dumb and impressionable. And desperate to do anything to get a stage pass.

It's not cheating if you are trading it for a back stage pass...

Yeah, but then you're contributing to the stupidity when you could be standing out front explaining to the sheeple why they are sheeple, and that they shouldn't patronize mindless idiotic drivel.

Bill, that drummer sure can hit a cymbal, eh?

Sounded like coldplay and U2's retarded love child doing a Joe Cocker impersonation to me.

Endrik's link sounded much better, but is pretty grating.

I would say that the Killers are a much better example of this kind of music. I actually enjoy much of their music - despite the hype and overplay on the radio.

You might have actually liked Muse? I find them interesting:

                    Muse - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xsp3_a-PMTw

Here are more in the same genre, the rest of these I would classify as smarmy psuedo-intellectual college vegan music:

                    Spoon:

                    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Blnj2...eature=related

                    Franz Ferdinand - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGdMLux4FvE

These two come in a tie for the lamest in this genre, but I have to give the nod to Blue October for ditching the librarian look for pudgy-goth.
Death Cab for Cutie - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9JB2ETgatI

Blue October - painful video to watch, unless you start laughing

I had a friend that compared a youtube clip of Kings of Leon to Zeppelin in the "their prime," as he said.

Were I a Zeppelin fan, I may have took them as fighting words.

Zep fan or not, I would have killed him where he stood for making such a comparison.

So I live under a rock too, no TV or radio for me for many years now. I didn't know about that band until you mentioned the name, and I'm not wasting time on checking them out.

But there's plenty of fine music under my rock...
