D'adds work fine for me never a problem.EB's are fine too.My faves are DR so they go on my guitars.
I buy strings in bulk and EB and D'Adds are priced right.
I have lots of customers that complain they have this problem but 85% of them put the ball end up on the tuners so I tell them cut the ends off and put a 90 degree bend in the wound strings before installing in the floyd saddle.
Thats seems to stop the breakage problem.
Could be you are too heavy handed with the metal pick because you are having the problem in the picking area.JMO
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I used D'daddrio for a long time, but they don't stay in tune very well.

Switched to GHS boomers, and they were fine.

Switched to DR Strings, love the reduced tension and the tuning stability, been using them ever since. With DRs, a pack of new strings settle into the right pitch very quickly, don't even have to stretch them.
