My parents have one of the non-panel ones and they love it. It lets them have what is essentially a station wagon without feeling they are driving the Griswold Family Truckster.

The panel version looks cool, really emphasizes the "30's idea of a future car" look. Let us know when you have the nitrous kit in.

That doesn't sound corny to me...I think old school station wagons have a lot of potential for cool custom work. I own a 74 caddy hearse, and me and my wife have been slowly restoring/ hot rodding it. She's an embalmer by trade, so we have good resources for getting cool custom parts. Talk about the ultimate "band van"!

GM Australia did something like that as a show car a few years ago. The Sandman is the classic 70s Aussie Shaggin' Wagon and GM figured they'd pay tribute to the era with an updated version:
