Spammers getting through the flaming hoops?

Ok, I could be mistooken, but isn't the JCF set up now like most forums where once you register you've gotta wait for an email with a link to verify you're not a spammer?

So how do we have a spammer? Can the owners of the sites in his links be sued by Jeremy?

They're getting through the image verification. And no, no liability from the spammer's sites, could be, but hardly worth the time, effort and expense.

It's becoming a PITA here and on a couple of forums I run, I get about 60+ bogus registrations a day on one and a handful on another.

Just need to implement some better registration authentication/verification technologies is all.

I never did like the image thing anyway. They were always swirled/warped so Ks looked like Xs and 1 looked like I, or they'd use a font where I and l looked alike.

They've got the image verification figured out, and the email verification as well. Best way to weed them out is with a series of challenge and response questions.

Having a form where you ask a human question is the best way to prevent these bots. I use to run a large forum and that eliminated bots once and for all.
