Man..... I waited so bad for this album. Got it Wed night and have gone through it 3 times. IT IS a dud.
Just fucking flat and uninspired.
Very dissapointing.

Chad's playing is better than I thought
MA's tone is thick and boosted to show EVH he can carry a thick line
Satch's tone is muddy as fuck and monotone

It just didn't worked out.

I really think this narrows down to what I said a long time ago. They sound like they're trying to recreate the old Van Halen "I'm fucking stoned in this garage and lets write a damn song", vibe. I may be crucified for this, and as good as Joe Satriani is, he's a fucking boring guitarist, I like a few of his tunes, but damnit, he is so damn boring. With all the talent he has, I'd probably rather listen to Poison, or something with more energy. His tone is bland and sterile and he sounds very stiff.

Ed Van Halen makes me want to do backflips because his music has (HAD) so much fire, same with Yngwie, Becker, and all those other guys.. Joe lacks it.

Not saying he's bad, because he's a very talented guitarist and I would love to be a quarter of how good he is...But he's boring as fuck.
