  • They've been talking about it for a while- Papelbon was making noise about it, not seeming too thrilled at the prospect. Wagner also made some comments to the effect of not letting the Sox ride his newly-repaired arm that hard. Should be interesting.

Tonight, Yankees-Rangers. If the Yanks win, they keep or gain ground on Boston. If the Yankees lose, the Rangers keep or gain ground on Boston. With WC at 1 game and the division at 7 and Tampa back 10, the Yankee fan in me is rooting for a combination of 3 Yankee losses with 3 Red Sox losses, keep the division where it is, but bury the Sox in the WC.

    • Cards beat the Astros 1-0
Washington is beating the Cubs 15-6.. Cubs are practicing their patented Choke...they must think its September already.

          • Tigers help the Rangers again by beating the Angels. Tigers now up 4.5 games over Chicago and Minnesota.

            • Yanks come back falls short. What is Girardi thinking having Swisher bunt with no outs and two guys on in the ninth? Ugh.....oh well.

Freddy Garcia looked good for the White Sox against the BoSox but the damn palehose couldn't come through and beat them. Can't we get a little help?

                • Absolutey, Shawn. Sometimes I think he opens 'Baseball Managing for Dummies' sees he's down by one-run and decides to bunt.

Tigers are surging right now. I think the White Sox are going to fall by the wayside. Might be Tigers - Angels in the 1st round of the playoffs.

                  • The bunt was stupid because Texas' pitcher was all over the place, and Nick Swisher is 4th in the league in walks. Technically, a bunt can be called for there, but Girardi is a moron at times, there were no outs. Yanks were hiding in the bushes again, should not have lost that game. 9 of Texas' runs came with two outs. Joba Chamberlain looked pretty weak last night. All this experimenting does not look to be helping.
Still can take 2 of 3, we'll see.

                    • Once he showed bunt was he expecting Fancisco to throw him a pitch to bunt? A 93+ MPH high fastball isnt an easy pitch to bunt. Nonethelss I'm not convinced Elvis made it to the bag in time on that DP ball.

I understand callign for the bunt but I wouldn't have called that against Texas, their outfield all have pretty good arms and getting tying run on a flyball is iffy...

                          • i agree the Green Monster is only 280 feet away, but the yankees had special engineers design that new stadium with a NASA jet stream that forges its way out to right field.

It's a shame that Nasa Jet Stream has a bad valve on it.. Yanks plan on replacing it and it should be ready for launch next Friday, that is weather permitting and theres no chance of cork I mean ummm foam insulation damaging the ball during take off.
