  • I like drifting strike-zones myself. With replay and strike rectangle its funny how one pitch is a bal land one is a strike and they hit the same exact spot in theh strikezone rectangle replay cam

They have video replay for NFL and NHL, they could use it in MLB for fair/foul balls and checked swings rather easily imho...too many strikezone blown calls to make those reviewable

    • Rockies grab Game 2 and the momentum.

Cards-LA battling 1-1 in the 6th. Cards need to get this game.

Posada looked off last night. I like how CC bailed him out in the press conference...well, bailed him out on one of the 2 past balls. He said one was my fault (cc) and was one his.

      • Poor Wainwright, he pitched his ass off.
Dodgers just tied it in the bottom of the ninth on a two out error
by Holliday, a walk, and then a single, all with two out.
        cruel.

              • this may be the most important post in this thread-
4 more bad calls last night in the Sox-Angels game, 3 against the Sox, 1 against the Angels. this is deplorable. We're not talking balls and strikes, we're talking calls at first and 3rd base. For Godsakes, this isn't like calling a football game, get it right. They are ruining the playoffs, I cannot believe this shit. I'm up to 12 bad calls now. Fukkin' 12!!!! The Yankees-Twins have luckily escaped it so far, but it's only a matter of time, I'm at a loss.
                Now-for the most important post-
Balls and strikes have been shown incorrectly and we have all barked the home plate umps without accurate proof, check this shit out, now it makes sense why we don't think the umps are consistent behind there. it's the umps in the field that I am fuming at, look at this- I want feedback from you guys................

It just goes to show you how much MLB is more about dramatic camera angles than accuracy. That big sweeping slider sells more advertising than just a simple corner to corner sweep.
I can't say the umps are crooked but their calls are borderline criminal. They have decided who will win the game and who will go home the loser.
Look at Hollidays hit by pitch the ump tried to call a strike to start with.
A good catcher can frame a ball and make an unsure ump lean his direction but these umps are supposed to be seasoned pro's and the best at what they do. I think they are just too heavily protected in their job and their allowance for margin of error is too much. If I did my job as bad as some of these umps I'd have been out of business a long time ago.

                  • I guess TBS doesn't have the money to elevate a camera into the right spot.
maybe the yankees can write them a check. Gadzooks.

Ted's waiting on his ballpark stimulus check to build the riser for the camera. They would have to build it out of black material and put.the camera man in a ninja suit so he doesn't distract the hitter. They would also have to hide him behind a black screen so hes not sending signals so the batter knows its just a cut fast ball and not a huge sweeping slider coming from a 15 degree camera angle..

                      • Tex delivers funny because just today I was telling my buddy (who is a Yankee hater) that I'm rooting for the Yankees because I hate the Twins, lik Jeter and Tex, he said Tex isnt a winner, just on a winning team..lol

Those TBS announcers suck, I think it stands fr Twins Broadcasting Service...

                        • i am the Prophet Nostra-Thomas. Nice call by the leftfield foul line ump on Mauer in the 11th. Holy shit, I knew it was a matter of time until it would bite either the Yankees or twins on the ass. Was that sick or what? Leadoff double taken away.
That bases loaded no out 11th for the twins was the crushing blow after they didn't score.
The twins have outhit the Yankees in this series 22-16, but they have no long ball guys. They had men on base in every inning of the game.
bad baserunning mistake cost them a run in the 4th. This game couldn't have went better for them, had their closer in with a two run lead in the 9th.
Did I mention I soiled myself 4 times during that game?
that's a nasty way to lose for the twins, they had it, but the Yankees have hit nathan pretty well over the years for some reason. I'll take it, but that call was a ripoff on Mauer. Deplorable.
After this year they will institute instant replay, not becuase of the overabundance of angel-dust related bad calls, but because the games are not long enough as it is-lol More commercial revenue too.

                          • And yes Shawn, Ron Darling and that other guy with him were unlistenable.
in every facet of the game and about both teams. horrendous.

                            • Tommy, whats your blown call count now?...lol

I don't know you miss the that call on that double last night, Stevie Wonder could have made the right call on that...they need a REPLAY RULE in MLB. Especially for fair/foul balls, fan interference, and tags. I've seen two blown calls in the Tiger/Twin series, one on a stolen base by the twins where the runner wasnt even tagged....commentary from the TBS crew was...oh they're not going to call him safe when Lairds throw beat the runner by that much...wtf? you tagged the runner or you didnt...in this case they didnt.

                              • we're up to 13 horrendous or questionable calls, and we're talking in the field not behind the plate.
The Red Sox can't hit themselves in the head with the bat right now. Not looking too good for them right now, but they play in that crazy park of theirs now so maybe they can win one now.
