the way he was delivering the ball reminded me of Greg Maddux later on in his career.
Maddux was more of a spot pitcher as opposed to overpowering you the way he could earlier in his career. Smoltz looked really good, didn't seem like he was laboring the way he did against the yankees.

Helps Smoltz too to be in the NL. Grant it the game was against the Padres, but at least that horrible outing against the Yankees wasn't the last memory of his career.

Rockies 14th inninng Grand Slam for the victory !!! Game was long as fuck. Now they are 3 games back of the dodgers and play them in a 3 game series in Colorado.

both teams had chances to win that one earlier than the 14th. tough on the pen, but a great game for the rockies.

Tigers were up 10-0, and won 10-7. i thought they were gonna blow it for a minute in the 8th.

the Los Angeles Long Beach San Jacinto Santa Ana Angels of Anaheim are very opportunistic the way they play. Always stealing bases, taking extra bases, Mike Scioscia may be the best manager in baseball.

Yankee stadium will be a launching pad tonight, both teams leading in home runs.

that depends on which Kevin Millwood shows up to start. he's been pretty good up to about 5 innings or so. After that he has been gettin shellack'd in the 5th and 6th.

the yankees have a tendency to come out swinging, and other nights they seem to be hiding in the bushes and come out late with some big innings.
