Just heard the Angels got Scott Kazmir off of waivers from Tampa. Damn! He's a good pitcher having a not so good year. That would've been a nice addition for the Yanks!

White Sox couldn't help us by beating the Red Sox but helped out with the sweep! Totally different team then who played the Yankees at the beginning of Aug. and almost swept them. I think they've given up.

Big series this week in the AL East...Red Sox vs. Tampa. Will either tighten up the wild card or the Rays will be out.

still a lot of season left, but the American League East still looks to get two berths
again.
How about those SF Giants? Rockies, Braves, marlins, Cubs, all still in it.
Cards are starting to look like the best contender against the Phillies.

I think the Cards look like the best team in the NL. Phillies have a big issue with the ineffectiveness of LIdge right now. Cards are encouraged by Smoltz. Dodgers are hanging on for dear life.

For the AL I think it'll be the teams we're used to seeing in the playoffs. Yanks, Red Sox, Angels and Twins. I think the Twins will catch Detroit in the last month.

The Sox were only 2.5 behind at the beginning of last week,
then they go 1-6, couldn't have been at a worse time.

Yanks were actually in talks to pick up Garland last week.
I see them picking up someone, especially with the rosters going up to 40 from 25 now. They do need another starter, it's a fact. I like the 40 man roster at the end, you can rest your pen, as long as you have a decent lead in the standings.
