the more I sit here, the more i want the twins to win, the yankees are superior in every way to that team. If the Tigers win, Verlander only goes to game two on full rest, not that huge a deal, and he will be able to pitch game 5 as well. Are the Yankees better than the Tigers? yes, but the pitching is not tilted in any way, and that's the best way to move further, anything can happen in a 3 out of 5.
you'll probably get your wish Tommy. Tigers had first place for the longest time...could be one of the biggest chokes in sports if they lose. I hate that damn dome too. Couple weeks ago the Twins beat the Tigers on a routine flyball to left that was lost in the roof/lights..dropped in with runners on 2nd and 3rd...
I hope Cabrera isnt out Drinking with the Twins tonight..lol
i think the yankees, red sox, and angels can all easily get to the series, i really have no predictions. i neeed to see some it played out first in the 1st round.
the red sox -angels series will be great. game 3- Kazmir vs.Bucholz in Boston.
if it's tied 1-1 that will be a sick matchup.
i think Carpenter and Wainright could be enough for the cards to beat the dodgers.
Carpenter has a whole bunch of different pitches, and Wainright has the great 4 seam fastball and curve. He's more of a power pitcher, and carpenter will carve you up. If the Dodgers are not hitting forget it. I feel the same with the Yankees, if they are not hitting forget it. They might be able to get out of the 1st round but not the 2nd, their pitching just isn't as deep pound for pound.
If the Yankees had a healthy Chien Ming Wang, then they would be my prediction to win it all. That hurt losing that guy for two years now. He won 19 games two years in a row.
I hear you about Wang, but even a healthy Wanger didn't help us in the post-season. I don't think he has the moxie for the kind of fight a playoff game is. Just my .02.
It'll be interesting to see if Damon and Matsui are back with this team next year.
Yankees vs Cardinals based on paper...best 2 teams but as Tommy mentioned, anything can happen in the divisional series...an upset and momentum can fling you towards a penant and WS
