The Aceves - Robertson switch was just plain retarded. I'm not liking Girardi using Mo as much as he is. If this thing goes 7 games it might come back to bite him. Yesterday's game was the Yankees to have. Pettite gave Vlad a hittable pitch, to a guy who swings from his toes, and wasn't hitting worth a crap in the series.

Yanks come back with CC tonight. Hopefully we'll put the stranglehold on the series with a win.

I wonder if Tommy is still recovering from all the blown calls.. The throw down to second was wrong by a mile as well. Sad shit from the Umps once again.

            • My fukkin' router for the internet Fios whatever you call it , blew up sunday afternoon.
I am thoroughly convinced now, for real, not joking here, that the Umpires are all on angel Dust. No pun intended. lots to talk about, i'll be back in a little while. Just hooked up me new router all by myself, amazing job by me if i do say so myself. Put the cables from the broken one into the new one and it worked.

              • Harsh but really hits the nail on the head...at least from my perspective
Dodgers manager Joe Torre is on the verge of having a ninth consecutive team bow out in the playoffs.

                • Yeah, the blown calls thing is getting out of hand. There should be so kind of video review on questionable calls. It's not the fact that the game is a blowout, or Cano didn't score, it's a momentum thing. Baseball swings so much on one play it seems, and those kill momentum.

                  • o.k., I've come to the conclusion that my router blew up because i was tallying the number of outlandish calls in these playoffs in both leagues and it was just too much for my router to handle and it torched itself. Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit, can you believe these umps?
Girardi's over micromanaging in game 2 was even worse than game 3 in my opinion, but the Yankees luckily got off the hook in game 2.
Game 3 when he took out Damon, that enabled the Yankees lineup to have mariano Rivera as their DH the next inning. Joe, you're not managing the Florida marlins anymore, he is the yankees achillies heel. Too much by the book and numbers, and never from the gut does he manage. I cannot even speak about the Robertson yank for aceves.
                    Jake,
The best move Girardi made was bringing in rivera, he's the only pitcher who could get out of that jam there in the ninth. he only had an inning in his gas tank cuz he threw 2 and a third in game 2. Otherwise, Joe is on Angel Dust. So is Swisher, Cano, and Posada on the bases and in the field. last night was great but this thing could have already been over if not for the mistake to Guererro by Pettite, and the Girardi -isms. Angels are not out of it yet. Never out of it until it is officially done.

In baseball, when you're an umpire, you have a 50/50 chance of getting the call right. Pretty good fukkin' odds in my book, it's not like you're calling a football game, why is this year that ridiculous, gets worse every year. Umps are on the take, or as i said before on Angel Dust. Neither would shock me at this point.

                    • Do you love this shit or what? Rivera is getting killed out here on L.A. sports radio and being labeled a cheater. People are so stupid it's ridiculous, this not how you load up a baseball you fukking morons!!!!!!!!!! I'm eating this up with a spoon right now.

So, there's this video making the rounds on the internet that appears to show Mariano Rivera preparing a spitball in Game Three of the ALCS. Since spitballs are illegal, this has become all the rage lately...

                      • 1. The spit ball doesn't actually a pitcher spitting on the ball. The name came about because the pitcher needs a little saliva to work with some other lubricant to throw the pitch. Spitting on the ball does nothing. You can spit on the ball and it will not change the trajectory at all when you throw it.

                        2. A spit ball is actually the result of using the saliva on your FINGERS to press against the lubricant on the ball to cause the ball to slip off the fingers and spin forward instead of backward. This causes and extreme sinking motion. Again, the pitcher does not actually spit on the ball to get this effect.

                        3. Rivera does not and has not ever thrown anything resembling a sinker or a spitball. If he broke off a nasty split fingered fastball (exact same pitch as a spit ball, just harder to throw without the lube), then at least there would be something to investigate.

                        Fukking morons i tell you.

                        • Spitballs are bullshit Tommy has that one called right.. you can piss on a ball and not change a thing.... nothing as obvious as Kenny Rogers and the pine tar balls in 06.. Made him wash his hands...Umps are as Tommy says " on Angel Dust" or pixie dust or some shit. They need to be in rehab from all the crack they are on this year.
                          GO PHILS !!!!!!

                          • thankyou sir.
If spitting on the ball was the real case, then every pitch during game two when it was pouring rain was a spitball. It's insulting-lol

Anyhoo, the Phillies have smacked 4 more homeruns and are up 9-4 in the bottom of the 8th. game 4 was a crushing loss for the Dodgers.

                              • We will find out tonight if the umps are ready to move on to the WS or if they want to continue the ALCS and keep those per diem and bonus checks coming.

A little good news on my home front.. Dave Duncan says he will come back if LaRussa does. I really like what Dunc has done with some mediocre pitchers and bringing some old vets back into the game.
