  • Shipping to France - Insurance caps?

Hi guys, just sold a Gibson SG and tried to ship it by USPS today. They said the insurance limit is $650 which the guitar sold for $2,000 so that doesn't fly.

I'm waiting on more info from the buyer because UPS doesn't recognize is city name and he didn't give me a postal code. DHL doesn't service the Mississippi coast anymore per their website and Fedex wants like $280 before insurance.

I know when I got the shipping quote the USPS site let me factor insurance for $2000 but now it limits it to $650. WTF?

    Something does not seem right...

    What's the city/town/village called?
    "Dear Dr. Bill,
I work with a woman who is about 5 feet tall and weighs close to 450 pounds and has more facial hair than ZZ Top." - Jack The Riffer

"OK, we can both have Ben..joint custody. I'll have him on the weekends. We could go out in my Cobra and give people the finger..weather permitting of course.." -Bill Z. Bub

Corse, France. Fedex and UPS showed multiple locations with Corse as part of the name but not the whole name.

What irks me is that when I got the rate quote the USPS site gave me an insurance quote for $2,000, but now it too says $650 is the limit. Did something recently happen to make France unstable to ship to?

        Yes, "the French".

Cut it into 4 pieces and send it in 4 parcels, that way you will be amply covered.
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

        I nearly broke her back
