So many shows... Memory not so great....

Slayer- Reign In Blood tour Maceba Theater Houston TX. They opened for Wasp, Raven opened for them. We left before Wasp.

Devo- I guess 89 or so. Also The Ramones, every time I saw them in the 80's

The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black- at Emos in Austin.

Roky Erickson- At the Conroe Crawfish Festival of all things. Seeing him play the Continental Club next Wednesday!

Dick Dale about five years ago. Amazing show, can't remember what club.

Plus tons of KISS, Priest, Crue, and Motorhead shows over the years.

It's kinda sad... I used to go see bands play every week... Sometimes every night of the week. Now it takes a lot to get me out.

There's been a shitload, but here are the first few that spring to mind -

Queensryche on the Empire tour. They played the entire Mindcrime album in one pass. Truly amazing. And the support was Lynch Mob....

Bon Jovi at Donington MOR in '87(ish). I wasn't all that interested, we'd come to see the the other bands on the bill. They were staggering, completely blew everyone away.

DLR with Warrant in support. One of the best parties I ever attended...

Stuck Mojo in a little club in Exeter. They were pretty good, but the support - a Swedish outfit called Psycore - were fuckin' brutal.

Cheap Trick at the LA Forum in '90. My God, the girls at that gig....

so many to choose from ..my top picks would be

Metallica Edinburgh playhouse 88..mind blowing show seen them plenty of times since but nothing like your first time!

Pearl Jam Glasgow Cathouse..their first tour, Ten wasn't out in the UK yet and Alive had just blew up on MTV

Iron Maiden Ayr pavilion..I think this was 90/91 part of the club tour they did in the UK for No Prayer for the Dying.

Soundgarden Glasgow Barrowlands, Down on the Upside tour

Skid Row Edinburgh playhouse and Donnington ..Seb is really painful at times live, but they put on a great show.

and any time I've seen the Wildhearts...fantastic band!

                voodoo glow skulls - Firme
cause the after party was pretty effin cool

                or maybe

Type o negative - bloody kisses
cause the after party was pretty cool

                or

trixter, great white and the SCORPIONS - they had to stop the show )in ATL)due to massive rain because cars were floating away in one parking area, obviously the scorps enjoyed the break too! after the intermission(30 mins or so)they came back out fully ready to party(crazy world tour IIRC)and when they stepped back out onstage it was hit after hit and ferrocious guitar playing - Matthias and Rudolph fucking owned the night - especiallly the shit that made me love them like "no one like you","rhythym of love","blackout",IIRC they even played "in trance" that night - I had enjoyed massive libations and they held the alcohol sales late that night on account of the unplanned intermission(the scorpions had their own little party too!!!, cause when they came back out it was fucking go!)

tough question - I remember so many great shows from the ramones through exodus

The biggest letdown however was Joe Satriani @ the fox, no show whatsoever he stood in place without movement - his playing was brilliant, but absolutely no stage show(steve silas(or something close) opened IIRC)

King Diamond with Merciful fate on their "in the shadows tour" IIRC parts of the "is this you, melissa" video were filmed at this(it was also on my 25th birthday and I gave King a nuggie after getting on stage(security hit me a few times, but it was worth it)
                Denner and Sherman ruled http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZ7m_uCr704

Wow so many great shows, but I love so many forms of music

Musicly the best show I ever saw was - the Steve Morse band opening for the dixie dregs(that son of a gun(steve morse)played the whole show with his left arm(fretting hand)in a cast, however he refrained from playing tumeni notes. My personal highlight of the night was"highland wedding".

I also caught Pantera opening for skid row on some tour(cfh on Panteras part)

                etc......
Enjoying a rum and coke, just didn't have any coke...

                  Shit I forgot a few..

Stone Temple Pilots at half empty King Tuts on the Core tour
Foo fighters and the Glasgow Barrowlands on their first uk tour
NIN at the Barrowlands for Downward Spiral
Paradise Lost at King Tuts..before they went "fruity"
..and I'll probably get pilloried for this if any of my fellow UK JCF'ers read it but any time I saw Little Angels (and I saw them a lot!!) they put on an amazing show.
finally Wolfsbane were also amazing everytime I saw them live.

I don't think Little Angels are any less gay, musically, than STP or the Foo Fighters. You should be pilloried for seeing ANY of those fuckers!
