The NFL really has a lot of bad trouble constantly going on.

                That's true, but if I was a multi-millionaire in my early 20's .............

the NFL takes the cake though, by far, more than any other major sport.
overly serious trouble too, way beyond drunk driving, possession, substance abuse, etc. etc.
The NFL even has a rookie camp symposium in hopes of helping the young players to
                  stay out of trouble.

Before they take the field in search of NFL glory, the league's rookies gather in Carlsbad, Calif., for a crash course in how to handle the huge transition from life as college players to pros.

I hate to detract from the thread topic, in this case at least, but....

                      NOSE FOR TROUBLE

Players with the most incidents since 2000:
                      6-CB Adam “Pacman” Jones (Tennessee)
                      WR Chris Henry (Cincinnati)
                      4-S Dwight Smith (Detroit)
                      OT Bryant McKinnie (Minnesota)

                      LB Steve Foley (Chargers)
                      DL Terry “Tank” Johnson (Dallas)
Note: Of the above six players, Johnson, McKinnie and Smith are active. Jones is trying to come back from suspension.
                      PROBLEM AREAS

Most common charge: drunken driving. Of 385 incidents since 2000, 112 (29 percent) involve drunken driving.
Repeat offenders: 163 of the 385 incidents (42 percent) were committed by 65 players with more than one arrest.
Most troubled positions: wide receiver (67 arrests), cornerback (54).
Worst months on calendar, excluding 2008: June (42 arrests), May (40).
Worst month since 2000: March 2007 (12 arrests).
                      BEHAVED AREAS

Positions with fewest arrests: punters (2), kickers (6), quarterbacks (11) and offensive linemen (45).
Note: Kicker Sebastian Janikowski accounted for three of those arrests; punter Todd Sauerbrun accounted for two.
Quietest months, excluding 2008: January (21), April (21).
                      RESOLUTIONS

In compiling a list of 385 arrests and citations involving NFL players since 2000, the Union-Tribune could find legal resolutions to 317 incidents. Among those where no legal resolution could be found, many are still pending. Here is a breakdown of those found resolved:
Convictions, pleas to lesser charges, diversion programs: 65 percent
                      Dropped without penalty: 29 percent
                      Acquittals: 6 percent
                      SOCIETAL COMPARISON

The NFL is better behaved than American society.
NFL: roughly one arrest per 47 players per year since 2000, including injured reserve lists, according to the database. U.S. population: one arrest per 21 people per year (around 4,800 arrests per 100,000 inhabitants) and one arrest per 25 people age 18 and over, according to the FBI.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair, who led the famous Tennessee Titans' drive that came a yard short of forcing overtime in the 2000 Super Bowl, was found dead Saturday with multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the head. Police said a pistol was discovered near the body of a woman also shot dead in a downtown condominium.

"At this juncture, we do not believe she is involved," he said. "Nothing has been ruled out, but as far as actively looking for a suspect tonight, the answer would be no."

Wait a frigging minute ~ multiple gunshot wounds, they don't believe she was involved. A double homicide, however they're not looking for a suspect?

                        What gives?

I read that article before and I thought that they were referring to his wife when they said that she was not involved. This was some waitress from Dave and Busters he was banging. Way to aim high. Tis a shame, RIP Steve.

More like the girl was his girlfriend - maybe the wife had enough of him and his girlfriend?
