Much like in Robert A. Heinlen's story Starship Troopers, I really believe that those who serve their country in the military should have a stronger vote than those who don't. They've put the only life they will ever receive (Unless you believe in re-incarnation.
) on the line to protect those who can't or won't. If they've exerienced combat or even been in a combat area, then they've been through shit that people who haven't served wouldn't be able to imagine.
When you come back it is up to you to share with those you protect the true cost for their freedom. I would be willing to bet a large percentage of them only consider the benefit and not the cost.
I hope through playing guitar you can get some emotional release from the stress of that. I know it would help me.
