That's me. Other than the odd band shirt, I just look normal. Not like all the "metalheads" at my school with 400 piercings and indecipherable "metal" band shirts with band names longer than the average haiku.

        Here's a haiku for you:

        Metalcore bands suck.
They sound like a dying cat.
        They should learn to write.

I would add to this but he so precisely said my thoughts that adding anything would ultimately kill the humour.

I wouldn't put too much stock in anything MartinBarre1 says. In another thread he actually stated that Nirvana were good for one album. True story. It's right there in print.

                  Actually, no.

It's a response to the "why did they put a Floyd on the KV5" and "why don't they get Mustaine back" and "why can't I get a KV1 with the Kahler I don't want another Floyded guitar" and "why'd they put chrome hardware on that model it'd look so much better with black and I'm not buying one until they do" and "why won't they put a regular pointyhead on the KV2T" crying-like-little-girl threads that come up left and right.

The whole "dropped-Ab tuning and so much gain you can't hear the chord changes" will be in another thread

As you can see by my low post count I'm a noob here. Back in the heyday when charvel's and jackson's ruled the world, I was just comming out of my mom's womb. I'm a young guy who's not cought up in any of the nostalgia of the past. That being said, I have a thing for floyded super strats with maple necks and boards. I've got 2 of the Charvel USA productions and couldn't be happier. Now, I'm not the world's greatest player by any means, but charvel absolutley nailed what kind of feel I like. I could care less where a trem is made or what color it is as long as it stays in tune. Truthfully, I'm into neon colors and the whole "keep it black" thing never did it for me. I love how jackson offers great finishes on their production guitars.

Newc, I'm with you on the emo thing. For some reason unlike most of my friends who are into rap and such, I can't get enough of VH,and Lynch, and Ratt and D2. Music should be fun and not filled with preteen angst. It should have wicked solo's and me melodic. The kid from Black Tide plays a KE2 at least. Don't complain, if you don't like something than make the best of it. Hell, I'm even starting to like the POS knob on my socal

Shit, I'm not that discrimintating - its all metal to me.
                        +1

I don't understand why people always accuse my Favourite Band Bullet for My Valentine being emo's they never look into the lyrics and just say OMG He said that word he's emo!

Please explain why you think they are emo's as I thought all people would know emo's don't write songs like Her Voice Resides, Scream Aim Fire, Eye of The Storm, Waking the Demon or Four Words to Choke Upon

I mean people are fucking dumb

                        Back to the topic

If you don't know how to set up a FR then go to your local music shop and ask them to show you I'm sure that will teach you stop moaning about T-O-M's They're not essential for a guitar are they!? T-O-M's are simple but can't keep a guitar in tune for as long as a Floyd or A Kahler and they keep guitars in tune for ages Stop bitching about certain guitar specs unless it's horrible pick ups that sounds worse than all the bitching in this thread then you can moan!

Mazz, You can stop ranting now because you're 100% wrong.

BFMV is as TRENDY as Limp Bizkit. Their music has an expiration date and will sound dated in a few short years.

I've been a member here since the era of NU/Rap metal and argued with members at that time their favorite bands were trends. Nothing but a few short years revealed I was 100% right..

My Advice: Find some new favorite bands.
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
                          Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

Bullet is not a trend for me, I was watching Kerrang (UK Rock/Metal Music Channel) and a few of their songs came on and I didn't listen to them for ages considering I first listened back in 06, I never follow trends I go with my own thing and I don't give a crap if nobody else likes em' because when I have a favourite band it ain't gonna change for years =D

anyway no thank you with the find a new favourite band thing
And I'm not 100% wrong, Floyds do stay in tune longer than T-O-M's =P

I've noticed a marked increase in pussification lately, and it's fucking sickening!

I'd expect this kinda crying on an Emo board, but I've seen far too many people pissing and moaning about the simplest of bullshit - chrome hardware on USA production models; poor babies might have to actually tune a guitar once in a while; don't like the look of something on a guitar that's only held on with fucking screws so they'll never ever buy it in a billion years with a cherry on top; too busy to learn how to properly set up a Floyd Rose so they cry whenever a new model comes out that doesn't have a tuneomatic; the latest Charvel USA Limited Color isn't Black; etc.

                                WTF?
Biggest thing is probably that we have to discuss something here. it'd be a really quiet board if all we could say is "Jackson rocks".

Beyond that, It's because Metal changed from when a lot of us came up. I'm not of fan of current "metal" with it's lead bass player (guitar dropped so low it may as well be) and vocals that are just growling. There's no range.

I thought Floyds sucked in the 80's also, so that's no change there, always been more of a Kahler person. Or a stop tail fan.
