Bill, I've been out of town lately, covering some races for a magazine, in fact I'm out of town now but reading on JCF from my laptop in my hotel room. Sorry to hear about all this mess. Thanks for all the well wishes and whatnots..especially the whatnots.

Helped my brother move back into his apartment. He's pretty messed up but ..he's alive. He's understands his actions caused his woman's death, and he cries for her little girl ..constantly. My mom is a complete wreck. My sis, the nurse checks on him and changes his gauze/dressing. He still needs major surgeries. But Here's where it gets CONFUSING. The primary detective in this case is an old friend of mine and we kept in touch. He will be summoned by certified mail approx two weeks before his arraingnment. I'll be getting that letter. He doesn't remember much after leaving the bar. They were both hammered, and on their "meds". He stated that she was not in any panick while being chased , but he thinks she told him to keep going. My brother drove his chopper like a friggin' maniac but she absolutely loved that. You would think a single mother wouldn't take such chances,..but..well..the worse case scenario happened. It is what it is. I know how long he's going in for..he doesn't. I'll let him find out himself. He promised he won't do any further stupid shit..suicide..fleeing to Mexico.. He's just has to man up and pay his dues..again. He was crying that he never listened to me and dad, and that he wished he died instead. I told him I understand, but I'm glad my lil' brother is still here because I love him. I think he's a dickhead but I love him. Then I gave him a haircut and shave. He looked like Saddam Hussein. Sure, I still have feelings of choking him..but he's living in his own hell..so, WTF?

I've been consumed between the police, my brother, my family and talking care of my wife's and my own doctor appointmments. On the plus side Vinny LOVES his new high school. We were initially bummed because we could not afford to send him to his Catholic high school of choice (10K a year) ...ummm no thanks. The girls are all over him and he wants his own cellphone..yeesh..Now I gotta check into cheap cellphone plan for my kid so he can talk nasty all night on the phone. He's every bit my son. The teachers already said that he is way ahead of the class, and maybe honor classes may be in the future..but I think it's best to excel at the basics while playing sports, guitar, friends, working out (gettin' VERY strong) , girls, and having a part time job washing dishes, and ect . He has alot on his plate..so we'll see how shit goes. Did I mention girls..he's got one that always calls here but she lives deep in the ghetto...shit, I didn't see that coming! I had to yell at him yesterday because he called her "my ghetto girl"..I was like "WTF??..you don't say THAT..that's fuggin' mean..you asshole!" He got the point after talking to him..

Well, I'm going to be busy with alot of shit..but I'll check in.

Good to hear that all is as well as it can be. As for Vinny's phone, make sure you go with unlimited texting! I don't get it but texting seems to be the main form of communication among my son and his friends. The first month with his new phone...13,000+ texts!!! WTF!!!???

Yeah texting is like this generation's crack cocaine. You see kids walking around in the mall with 4 other kids and they don't even look at each other or the eye candy in the mall. They are all just texting the person walking beside them.

They have never experienced life where you can't be contacted anywhere at any time of the day so they don't understand people that treasure the ability to be "off the radar".

That was a frosty Christmas dinner I can tell you - no amount of denying it will cut through when it comes to members of your close family who can identify every freckle of your nether regions, even if it has been 38 years since they have seen them!)

Cyg can be a little cryptic but he's on the right page here.

Bill's family is Catholic and so are his wife and son. Catholic schools are far better and safer than Cleveland's inner-city public schools, so that's where he''s sent his son, and went himself for part of his schooling.

Bill saw too much evil done by humans to other humans in his job as a Cleveland police officer and that affected his faith in God. But he doesn't tell his family what to think. He knows that each person has to make that decision for themselves.

I still am a Catholic, but Bill and I are great friends, we understand why each other thinks the way we do, and respect each other for it.

I agree with Cyg that I feel Bill is bound for Heaven because he is a good man and at the end of the day I think that's what God really wants from us. I'm not saying this to sermonize, I just think Bill is one of the best human beings I know.
