Thanx guys. I think I'm gonna go with a 55" LED, the picture's pretty phenomenal and the thing is super thin! Unreal! I thought my plasma was thin, these things are an inch thick!

I've always liked Samsung, but I can't say a bad word about my Pioneer Elite, so I think it will be one of those, the reviews are good on both sides, price is comparable, warranty, etc...

    I'll let you know.

Hows the viewing angle on those leds. A guy at work was looking at them but didnt get one because he said the viewing angle was poor, or at least not as nice as the same size lcds.

I didn't get too far on either side, but that's a good question, I'll have to look again before I actually buy it. I thought we were over that bad side angle view on TV's?

        Thanx!

Just want to point out that "LED" TVs are LCD TVs with LED backlights. This lets them be thinner and have a better overall picture. But nothing is different about them other than the light source.

Those led sammys look amazing. The '200hz' sonys are nice too, but still not plasma level for sports imo. Just sit far enough away, not care, and enjoy!

Well, after much deliberation, looking at Sears, Ultimate, American and of course Best Buy... I got the deal of the year ( I think)

I bought a Samsung 58" Plasma (model PN58B850T2F) for $2399 with the HDMI cables, and the kicker? A free PS3 160GB! (for the kids ya know... and Blu Ray)

I haven't seen one of these plasma's, but I saw the model below it, the 650 and that picture was amazing! I believe the specs are the same, just with the network, media, net stuff (DLNA?).

So it'll be here Tuesday morning and I'll post a bit more then.

Thanx again to all of you for all the help and advice!

Everyone will have an opinion and if you go to the AVS Forum you'll get a headache.

I prefer plasma picture quality. To me LCDs seem almost unreal. Not bad, but not for me.

                I have a 50" Panasonic 850U plasma and I love it.

All of these sets get better and better and the prices keep dropping like crazy.

Buy what you feel looks best. Someone will tell you that you made the wrong decision...screw 'em. Floyd or Kahler? Charvel or Jackson?
