  • Tim "Ripper" Owens tribute track

    "I am the one".

I wrote the song and played the guitars and bass. I also did the drums although they're really simplistic since I don't have the skill or software to do better ones.

The guitar was my KE3 with DK2 neck. Duncan Distortion bridge and neck.

The vocals, and lyrics, were done by some of the guys on Ripper's official forum.
The whole idea behind the song was to do something in Tim's style (heavy modern metal!), with his style of vocals.

It's still at the demo stage, as the lead vocalist is redoing the vocals to sort out the clipping and I'm hoping to get some better drums for it, but I'd like to know what you guys think of it as it is.

The singer is fucking awesome IMO - it doesn't quite show here because there's a lot of clipping, but you can hear his power and range (it was "Myke Havoc" from my myspace friends if you want to check out his other stuff). There's backing vocals from a couple of other guys on Tim's forum too, and they were really good singers too IMO. It's funny to hear people sing without music in the background, you really start to appreciate how good someone can sing when you hear it like that.

Please comment on Myspace, I only recently joined and need some comments.

Feel free to listen and comment on my other stuff BTW, "Floating" is the one song I've written that I would fucking LOVE to do with a band, live.

Thanks man, the "Killers" album was my inspiration for "Floating". I even nicked the title from Steve Harris (one of Maiden's tunes from that period was originally titled "Floating". Might have been "Purgatory" or "Genghis Khan", can't remember).
