Hmm... can't check the link here at work... broken you say? Dang it worked on my home comp yesterday. Soundclick sucks.

Are you asking about sound quality/recording quality?

I can play it now but just through some tin cans. I'll try and play it back through some better speakers later. Sounds pretty decent though, as far as I can tell!

Somehow your link got changed into the "shortened" version that the forum displays. Luckily I'm a smart cookie and figured it out.

Sounds pretty good. What are you using to record it?

That's what I'm looking for - does it sound like a real guitar? Its so hard for me to tell - everything I record seems to sound fake.

Yeah, it sounds like a real guitar for sure. It's pretty dry, it's not a mic in a room, is it?

It's the JCM 800 model on the POD X3 - through the USB into Audacity. Done with my updated metal strat:

So - Alder, rosewood, MIK Floyd and Dimarzio Tone Zone bridge pickup.

I kept lowering the gain - for some reason - maybe this is always true - tons of gain when just playing around sounds OK, but when you record an unaccompanied guitar it just sounds like mush. The above was the 800 Model with the gain at about 11 o clock. Higher and it starts loosening up and fizzing - see the "high gain" sample below - never mind the bad playing.

Somebody on the Fender Forum asked for clips so I recorded:

                      Bluesy thing - neck pickup

                      Crunch sound - bridge

                      High Gain - Bridge Pickup

I like the high gain one best myself. The crunch sounds very "Appetite For Destruction" rhythm tone. It's not bad I just like unnecessary gain more.

If you have the metal pack record it using the Big Bottom preset for proper sonic destruction.

That's a good thing in my book.

The tone is very flat and dry. It sounds like a Pod with no effects.

I don't play with a lot of effects - little to no reverb, no delay, no compression - whether I'm using a regular amp or the POD.
