  • here's another Axe II clip some Surfing with the alien

I tonematched this from the cd and used a BT a friend of mine gave me from the GC satch contest a while back
had to figure chorus settings on this to get it to sound close (satch's tone was really processed on this cd)
    forgive the clams

Sounds great. The only minor thing I would say is to add a little more presence on the lead. It's missing a tad of the initial attack. otherwise, awesome job.

              thanks
you know it's funny you say that. I tend to cut some highs from my patches and during recording/playbakc they sound nice and bright but when I render out from reaper to a wav file I notice
that I lose a lot of high end.
if you listen to the Va halen clips I posted , that patch sounds ridiculously bright during playback, but sounded more 'correct" once rendered.
I need to figure out where I'm losing the top end when I render.

Stuff sounds great...I may end up going Axe FX myself...can you do something more "modern hi gain" for me? Say Gojira or Decapitated?

                        thanks guys
paulbag I can do what ever you'd like if there are backing tracks for it
gojira and decapitated? I can learn some but I don't know if there are any BTs out there for them.
For Dio how about "Rainbow in the dark" I think there's a good BT for that one out there

Let er' rip bro...I'm kinda torn between the axe FX and the 5150 III combo...and unfortunately I'll never be able to walk into a music store and give the two of them a taste test...that's why I requested some hi gain metal...I'd love to hear the tone match to either Gojira or Decapitated...or both! Dave is working hard to sway me towards Fractal and doing a good job...but I do love a nasty hi gain tube amp in front of my squash...I'll eagerly await the heaviness...

+1 for Rainbow in the dark. Your playing and tone are awesome - I'd love to hear you cover that.

Ok I'll try to get to it today or tomorrow
I go the BT I just need to find the time to do it.

I'm going to try and do some 7 string stuff too so you can hear some
more higher gain stuff too (maybe Jaws of Life by Petrucci") something like that
I updated to FM 10 last night and this thing is really kicking it now
