• Drumkit From Hell - Anyone willing to share?

Hey guys. I'm making this post to see if anyone here can share some of the DKFH sounds with me. I used to have them on my PC but it crashed and I lost all my data. I just need the basic stuff. Thanks in advance.

All done in Cubase SX2...

Toontrack(www.toontrack.com), the makers of DFH should be able to help you out. Just E-mail the support team with your serial #. I think for 15.00 They will send you a new CD.

However I would recommend you check out Superior. I have both and DFH-1 is easier to work with but not nearly as realistic.

In superior you actually mix down a drum kit. It is 35 gigs of pure amazing percussion.

Check out the demo's on the site. They worked long and hard on that to do a nice realistic product that was a good bang for the buck.

got a question about this... how much of a pita is it to program your own patterns? i looked at the tutorial, and it's pretty impressive, but it it sully easy?

Hi Sully,

If I can do it anyone can do it. In it self, DFH Superior is not a sequencer. You need a host like Cubase, Samplitude, Adobe Audition.... Just to name a few.

If you have ever programmed a drum machine this is about the same, if not easier to progam your parts. However, you can also purchase midi files if programming the drum line doesn't appeal to you.

The only other thing I can say is Toontrack is awesome to deal with. They are constantly making updates to accommodate peoples need.

You will not be able to get past the realism versatility of DFH-S It will simply blow you away.

OK I am going to stop now before I sound too much like a commercial for them.

Were they at NAMM this year?

Re: Drumkit From Hell - Anyone willing to share?

Sully, it's worth it. The samples are un frikkin believable. I thought it was a pita when I first got it, but it's really not. If you want to go real deep and adjust mic levels for bleed over from track to track, you can, but other than that, it's pretty easy. The coolest thing about it is, you can bounce all the tracks to disk and then re-import them back into your project so that you have individual audio files seperated by tracks. It's like mixing a real drum kit with over head and ambiance mikes.
I use it with Cubase SX on a PC, but it'll work on a mac too. it's just a VSTi plugin.

I tried to install the "small" DFH2 version (not superior) and when I ran the program the sounds sucked, basically told me I didn't have enough RAM. My computer has 1Gb RAM....that's crazy.
So I stick to steinberg groove agent, even though I know DFH is awesome...

Really!! I have 1gig ram and have had no problem... What type of soundcard and processor do you have? That could greatly effect sounds as well. In addition what speed is your HD?

I am running what I feel is a modest system and have had no problems. Although, in all honesty I am not that familiar with DFH2. I believe DFH2 to be an entirely different animal from Superior, as it is uses NI's Kontact in order to run.

Is DFH2 even able to bounce to individual audio tracks to free RAM as DFH - Superior is?

System Specs:

Intel 845EB2 MB
2.4ghz w/533fsb
1gig ram

I'm only using 768m RAM and DFH Superior works great on my machine. I'm not sure how different it is from DFH2, but I would think it could handle it fine. It says that it requires 512 megs, but 1.5 gig recomended. The storage is a bitch though. It's 40 gigs!
