• Art SGX2000 Complete Song!!

Check it out. The song is called Joe's Song.
It was recorded totally with:
Ibanez RGT3120TDB
Art SGX2000
Boss DR-550 MKII drum machine
All the guitar and bass tracks were recorded using the Ibanez guitar and the SGX2000 plugged straight into my computers stero line in jack. Hmm... and you guys don't thing the SGX sounds good. Check this out. The guitar solo is at the end. It is a 1 take solo and sounds pretty cool.

JG, you are one the best at recording period. I really enjoy all of your stuff no matter what you use to record it with. I could give you a some piano wire, a stick, and some tinfoil and you would make it sound good.

Solo was very cool, really fit well with the music. A good way to tell if its good is if you cant really picture something else in its place. Great stuff.

I'm not a fan of the ART stuff. I had one of the early gutiar processors the made. SGX or something, the single rack space model. I thought your lead tone was a little thin sounding. But it still kicked ass.

Nice John. I like that piece. You do rock at recording. It would take me a month to that to sound half as good. The SGX2000 helps though doesn't it!

I agree the lead sounds a little thin, and a bit digital, too. The whole song has a very organic feel except the lead. The playing is nice ... has a warm feel to it. I like it.

Yeah, excellent playing but that solo tone really sounded buzzy and digital.

Hmmm... I tried alot of different solo tones and to my "ancient" ears, the digital sounding one sounded the best. I am gonna go back and re-record it with a straight up Marshall JCM800 tone and repost it. Thanks for the replies and suggestions.

Actually, I can't wait to throw another solo down with a more organic tone and see what the board members think. That is why this board is so good. Lots of good ears.

those clean tones are Pure Art!there is a preset there either Sgx stack or high gain that sounds like an overdriven tube amp on max with natural tube compression..been ages since i used my old SGX200-you got the X15 floor pedal to go with it as well?

I have the X-11 pedal. I really dig the unit. Its digital but I like a lot of the tones.

would love to hear it with a more natural lead tone.

its not all digital mate, there is an 12AX7 tube in there-i do believe its one of those twin ones-but the arts strongest and warmest overdrive is its own soildstate but some juicy tones can be had out of its tube-i have the x15 pedal with my old unit-

Nice stuff (apart from the lead tone). Was the tierce di picardie intentional?

I love starting in minors and ending in majors. Yes... it was intentional. It's kind of my trademark. I started as a classical pianist and Bach was my favorite. Maybe it comes from him. The flubs and mistakes all come from me though.
