I use a program called Windows Movie Maker. It came with my computer and saves the video files as .wmv files and gives me the option of saving quality as best for computer or best for broadband or whatever.
My digital camera has its unlimited movie recording feature, so it records until the card is full. The format is QuickTime MOV. Then I use EO Video (found for free on www.download.com) to convert the MOV file into an AVI. Then I use Windows XP's Windows Movie Maker (Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> Windows Movie Maker) to convert from AVI to WMV and select my frames-per-second and other quality factors when saving the file.
Now all I need is a place to upload PERMANENTLY for FREE...
See if you can download Windows Movie Maker from Microsoft's website for free, perhaps. I'm sure there are also other free programs that do video conversion stuff like this on www.download.com.
I must make a correction. I use EO Video to convert MOV into MPG, not MOV into AVI. Oops.
Then I proceed to convert the MPG into WMV with Windows Movie Maker.
