Cool playing there Newc.I realy liked the natural harmonics to start with.The hardest part for me when playing over this is to not copy note for note the original melody in each section on the track and you put your own sound down too.well done-i think chad would aprove

And yeah, I don't really like backing tracks that dictate a melody, because you're stuck with that particular tonality, and if you try something different it sounds off. There are some tracks that have a particular beat to the drums that also limit the type of melody you can lay over it - the Alesis SR16 is a great drum machine, but many of the presets don't allow much variance due to certain patterns on a given piece of the kit - like they're "suggesting" a particular rhythmic or melodic direction with the high hat or the fills.
