• Aint talkin Bout.... Midi Drums

Hi all.

Im working on programmign my drums better, so Im doing up a little sample of Aint talkin bout love.

Please give me some tips for better sounding drums/dynamics for them. Ive worked on it a little and i wanna know if you find them believable, or if they still sound overly midish!

Sounds ok to me. Whatever you're doing, keep doing it.
About the only thing I could suggest is to improve the crashes (cuts off too quick - try compression instead of limiting), and maybe drop the snare volume a tad.
I haven't compared yours to the original, of course, but it does sound good. What are you using?

Drumkit From Hell Superior edited up in Cubase's drum editor. I may need to compress those cymbals, or simple toss in some larger ones that have a logner decay. Thanks !

I need to get my Alesis QSR hooked up right and program a few drums - I played around with it some (before this place got in such a clusterfuck ) and built a kit that had some niiiice long cymbal sustain and deep. natural sounding drums.
Still waiting for someone to make a drum modeler so you can tweak everything from head material to shell material and depth and all that

Anyhoo, congrats and good luck
