For now it's gonna have to go into the FX return of my trusty old Peavey Supreme solidstate head, I'm gonna grab a dedicated power amp once I start summer work though, not sure what yet, I wanna stick with solidstate, grab a Carvin DCM600 or something maybe, but if I can't get the sound I want that way I'll have to save some more cash and go tube...

I like my POD 2.0 a lot better than the XT. I've heard some great sounding XT samples online, but I've never been able to get those great sounds when actually in front of one. On the 2.0, however, I can dial in exactly what I want (distortion-wise, that is) within seconds. A decent clean sound takes me a bit longer.

Agreed, throw a POD 2.0 in front of me and I'll have something cool up and running right away, I don't know if the XT is really worth the hassle that it is to coax a good sound out of it....

Recently, I recorded a dry POD 2.0 with no cab sims into Guitar Rig for cab emulation and effects. I like it.

I'll try to post a clip when I have time.

For a quick grab and go modeller I like the V-amp 2 better than the Pod 2.0. Especially if you are using it with an amp both as an effects processor or a preamp.

Before I got my POD, I really wanted to like the V-Amp better. It included a footswitch AND a carrying bag for $120.00 LESS than the POD. But... I tried them back to back at Guitar Center and the V-Amp just didn't have that magic "it" to me like the POD did.

I have both. I can get good sounds out of both, but I just cannot seem to get the XT's noise gate to work well with hi-gain sounds.
