Thanks for the nice words guys, I appreciate it.

Shawn - I don't know if I play this thing the same way twice in a row I just sketch the outlines, so to speak.

              Re: Revelation mother earth video

Well, this inspired me to go try to learn the parts of this song that I like, namely all the cool chords and fills. Downloaded some tab and damn if it wasn't wrong. So, I had to actually figure a good part of it out. I will also save this video to disc to help me fill in the blanks. It is really fun to play and I was surprised that I had the speed to hit those fills. Now, the actually solo with all the trills and such...that is another story!!

One thing that amazes me is your economy of movement. It barely looks like your hands are moving, yet the notes are pouring forth with rapidity. Excellent technique, but lacking in theatrics!!!!

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

                Re: Revelation mother earth video

Mike, the tab book of the live Tribute album is pretty close for that song. The notes are pretty much right but I usually end up changing a lot of positions on the neck than what is tabbed out

                      Re: Revelation mother earth video

Thanks guys! Regarding tabs and such... I always did that stuff by ear, so it's probably off a bit here and there. When I first learned those songs off Blizzard (back in summer/late '83 I think, it's been a long time in any event) I wore out a cassette running stuff back and forth. I think I was pretty accurate at the time, but as time has gone on I've lost some of the Randy parts and added some Pete parts.

I never care if it is an "exact" replication of the album. As long as it sounds good to my ears, I am happy...especially if I can find a shortcut that makes it easier to play.

Great playing as usual Pete! I do the same thing at the end too. Can't help but go into Steal Away The Night at the end of that solo!!!

The "Pete parts" sound damn cool! Especially the sweeps at the beginning of the vid!
