This is what I hate about computers. I want to download a tab file from powertabs, but I can't open the file. A PTB file? What the hell do I have to do?
I want to play guitar, not fuck with this conputer!

do a google for powertab application, download it, and it's all good. Powertab files are MUCH nicer than txt files, it plays along with the tab. Trust me, just download the app. It's very cool.

+1 If you've never seen this before , first you will go "whoa that's cool" then laught when you hear how hokie some of these songs sound.
Powertab and GuitarPro 4 are open on my computers all the time.
I wish I had shit like this back in the 80's, would've made learning a lot of this stuff easier [img]/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img]

I downloaded and installed it, yes.

I click on a tab, it downloads a zipped file. I go to open that file, and it's trying to open it with quicktime. How do I change that?

right click on the zip file, and select "open with" then select the power tab editor. that may work.

Chuck, open the powertab editor and choose File--->open and then select your Extreme tab.
