hi all
yesterday i bought a pod 2.0 ....see my other thread in the amps section.
today i started some tweaking, and well...here are the first results. unfortunately, i got some clipping in the revelation track....maybe too many guitars at the same time, i don't know
Dream Theater - Overture 1928 POD 2.0
Ozzy - Revelation Solo POD 2.0
if anybody it interested which amp models i used etc, just ask
the guitar i used was my blue charvel model 3 with a steves special bridge pickup.....veeeeeery nice guitar
all in all, i found that the pod 2 isn't even half as deep as the xt is. it's actually rather plug and play. but atm i'm not really sure if i really like it....the clean sounds are excellent, and the fx aren't too shabby either, but the distorted rhythm sounds tend to be waaay to bassy and sound...well, like if there was a blanket over the speakers. muffled. the plexi is unusable because it's way too bassy no matter what you do, the rectifier is pretty much fuzzy crap (of course it is ), the mark series can sound decent but don't have enough gain even with the boost engaged, the slo sounds like crap to me?!, and the jcm800 is also just too bassy and muffled.
however, the modern highgain as well as the mark II sound quite good. the insane is also alright for leads.
by the way, all of the amps mentioned above except for the slo and the rectifier can be tweaked to sound rather nice for lead sounds.
any advice? i was thinking maybe an EQ between the pod and the soundcard? i've been told the 2.3 update improves some of those issues, especially when it comes to the cabs. is that true?
greets
