    Pod XT + V-Amp 2 = BEST DEATH METAL TONE EVER

    I was playing around using the V-Amps cabinet modelling with my Pod XT settings and WOW, the results are awesome!! Check this uber sloppy riff out...Especially the chugging at the end! [img]/images/graemlins/notworthy.gif[/img]

    First, the version I did a few days ago, just V-Amp, and I was very happy with the sound at the time...

          Thanks guys! I'm REALLY happy with it, gonna tweak it a LITTLE bit more and remove the tad of muddiness in there if possible but otherwise I'm finally satisfied!

                  The V-Amp only track is done with the Modern high gain amp, treble at 10, mids at 5ish, bass at 4ish, cab model 15, drive boost on, and a TINY bit of compression, as low as it goes without being off.

                        Holy hell, that sounds incredible. I gotta start learning about recording. I just started reading Newc's guide to home recording, so let me ask a simple question.......which is a overall better box: Pod xt or V amp 2? Also, did you record that direct into the pc (like Newc's method)?

                          Overall I MUCH prefer the V-Amp 2 if I had to pick one unit...Here's a sample of me trying to record direct with the POD XT...

                          And yep I recorded direct to PC, just a 1/8" stereo cable from the V-Amp to my line in, and it's the stock piece of shit soundcard that came with the PC too!

                            Im gonna guess that you are using a drum machine? If so, what is the recommended box to use for drums that is the cheapest?

                              I sequenced them on my computer with Fruity Loops Studio usin' various samples I have collected over the years [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]
