• JCF appreciation tune

After hearing some of the posted tunes in this section i got me a V-amp pro and the great beatcraft software someone suggested and i am finally getting the sound i have been after for so long !

Yesterday i put some riffs together (nothing fancy i don't know about trembalo's and shit ), i can't believe how much my workflow has increased and i am in love with the tone i am getting now !

I forgot the handles of the people who pointed me in the direction of the V-amp and beatcraft but you know who you are, a big thank you and from maotar, this one is for you !

Cool! What amp simulation patch are you using?
I'll have to get myself one of those VAmp thingies some day.

Hell Yeah bro. Im the one that suggested beatcraft, glad you love it. The guy that wanted to sell me his drum machine came over last night and I showed him beatcraft. Needless to say, he understood why I declined to buy his boss dr-5 I've since obtained a copy of the first drum kit from hell and i sequence them all in beatcraft, what a great, simple program. Great tune, sounds killer

curious question. I use the v-amp along with beatcraft as well. What preset on the v-amp are you using for that song? Great sound. I've been tinkering around with preset A-6. Thanks in advance

Thanx guys,

Cuthroat the kick and snare i used are from the first DFH too (sonor kit). V-amp setting is a patch i got from THIS site , it is the Carcass patch he made wich basicly is the modern hi-gain amp with cab 15 bass at 4 mid and treb at 10.

I own a GT-6 too and have been searching for a great death metal sound for so long tweaking eq compression etc. and never got a good direct recording sound (works sweet with a amp though) but the V-amp has killer sound straight out of the box !

Awesome!
Man.. those drums are wicked, I've gotta check those out. What a cool idea to do a JCF appreciation tune!
I think your song has a very "I'm running very fast away from the monsters down the hall" kinda feel to it. Spooky!
Great job!

Im another one who jumped on the Beatcraft wagon... man, I cant thank the person enough who suggested that. Hands down the best, simplest drum sim out there. Hopefully once I finish my new house and move in, Ill finally have the time to start recording like Ive been wanting to!

Sounds great btw! If you want, I can play and dub a bass track in there for ya for even a fuller sound... Picked up a bass about 2 months ago for the sole purpose of recording, got a killer deal on it so I couldnt pass it up.

I got the demo now and I'm liking it. Is it cheap and easy to add other kits and sounds?

Re: JCF appreciation tune

yeah, very simple. On the top section (the pattern section), just look where it says "double click to add instrument". double click that and browse to the folder that has your sounds. I suggest making a folder on your c: drive to make things simple. Once you find the bass drum, snare drum, or whatever sound your wanting to import, just highlight it and click "open". You'll now notice that you have a new track with that sound you selected. From there, just treat the track like the others.

As for loading/saving full drum kits not included with beatcraft. Just make you a new template (file/new project). Once you do this, Project Properties will pop up asking you to name your project and stuff like that. All that is up to you but look at the bottom where it says "choose drum kit to use". Select "No Kit" and then click ok. What this does is opens up a blank project with no drum kit loaded. Then, all you do is add your kit that you wanna use one by one using the method I stated above (one track at a time). Once you have your new kit loaded, you'll need to save the kit as a preset. To save a preset, once your kit is loaded, go to the top and click on "Pattern Editor" and then "Save Current Kit in Kit Library". Once you click on that, it'll ask you to name your new kit and some other minor properties. Just use what you want and then click Ok. You'll now notice that everytime you create a new project, your newly made kit shows up as a preset. You're now good to rock

If you need any more assistance, i've gotten pretty decent with beatcraft, just let me know and i'll try to help ya. Good luck man and most importantly, have a blast.
