Hey drip,

sorry to hear about your drumming frustration. Are you referring to the beatcraft I suggested? I find that drum program to be the easiest and simpliest because of the lack of options you really don't need nor ever use. But it does take time to get a good track down and you look like you have your plate full with real life. The loops thing might be what works for you the best. Beats already formed and you just loop them with beatcraft, fruityloops, or whatever. But it will still take you a little time but not as much as creating a drum track from scratch. I took a look at the site emthrax suggested and its pretty good. Im still going through the site but I already found some samples that would fit into what im currently doing. Music shouldn't be frustrating cause it just takes the fun out and music is all about fun. You just have to find what works best for you and go with that. I wish ya luck my friend.

yeah its beatcraft..though I've hated them all...fruity loops..adn whatever else.

I'm sure its agood program..my bandmates seem to like it quite a bit. then again...they dont' jobs. Theyr'e still on summer vacation.

These ACID loops can be used with pretty much any platform you're using... Cakewalk, Soundforge, Cubase, ProTools... Ive used them in all of them and they are wicked easy to import in. I don't have to mess with them, I just use them like legos to build with. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
The beatcraft I haven't had a time to look into fully, but I have that site saved for when I can take some time to take advantage of the free trial. Awesome! [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

Also, add some reverb to your drum track, and record everything before you judge the sound. Sometimes the mix sounds a lot better than alone.

Download some midi rock songs and use and learn from those programmed fills. There are also midi "loop" packs out there with hundreds of bar and fill variations. Sometimes I'll use acid wav loops to save time and get my ideas down and then program later.

Actually, you should also just get some drum sheet music of songs you like and learn. Start off with simpler rock/punk where a "fill" maybe be nothing more than an extra accented hit.
