Always liked this song especially the solo.....Anyway i learned it the other day and thought it would be fun to share, also havent posted any video before, and there are no pics of my guitars on the site.....Still have trouble remembering what model this guitar is so any help would be appreciated. Yep the chops were VERY VERY good, you can play like a motherfucker, but it did nothing for me after a few seconds... id have been more impressed by the clip being more 'in context' with the song itself, and with your own touches for the solo rather than just a huge noodle fest [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

(dont shout at me! just one guys opinion of Dream Theaters song style rather than your playing mate!!!)

Im not soo much a dream theatre fan myself......i like that solo and i think it builds well.....if there were a good backing track, or if i werent too lazy to tune my guitar to C i would have made it more "In Context" but sadly im lazy....thanks to everyone for the kind words

Those who bashed DT because of this song are obviously quite ignorant, ToT is a straight forward metal album, the solo('s) fit that concept perfectly. You obviously know zilch about Petrucci, too.

Mpigott, what kind of gear were you using here? Your leadsound was like DEAD on, killer tone, and I'm pretty sure you didn't have a Roadking steaming next to the PC there.

Thank you everyone.........Haha.....yeah, no roadking.......its a Digitech 2101 for effects and preamp, and im running it into......Ba-baba-baaaaa!!!! A piece of shit Sony home stereo because i dont have a Poweramp or real guitar speakers. I have it jerry rigged so i can plug the headphone out on the preamp into a cord that i spliced and added a regular 2 prong stereo audio plug. My setup eats my ass but hey.....if you dig the sound then ive done well with the tools.......thanks

i'm afraid i was already in my place GodofRhythm, having every dvd DT have done, aswell as a few of the albums (including ToT), and i've seen them live this year...

Petrucci just doesnt do it for me anymore, especially on the latest 2 albums, and the As I Am Solo is more of an example from Rock Discipline than anything musical imo :P

Stale is the word... I & W album makes it all better though [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

While I agree about this particular solo alot of Petrucci's stuff on the last two albums have still been great. Stream of Conciousness for instance, Endless Sacrifice and off the most recent album the awesome Sacrificed Sons. Nothing can really compare to Awake and I&amp;W but hey what can you do?
