Tim , Thanks man..you'd probably like "scapegoat" the best..I hear you loud and clear on the drummer. I put all those songs to a click..he couldn't touch it. I wasted almost five hours doing that. So this is just a glorified Boombox band practice tape.. [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

The song ideas are there..I would LOVE to do this stuff to a REAL drummer with meter and triggers , and all the tracks I need to harmonize and go nuts. That tapping bass part was total off the cuff. it replaced John's solo when we used to do it together..I had to put "something" there. we only had 4 stupid tracks top play with. This tape was made for a local heavy metal DJ..he wanted "something" to show him ..a boombox tape..anything. So a friend offered to record us with his 4tr tape on a weekend. Its just really live in a basement with a layerd guitar track and vocal track..I had to steal some solos where Ty wasn't singing on his track and hurry and get the hell out before he came back in..it was VERY primitive.

The drummer's lack of meter gives it a very "Punk" feel to me..I wanted a very precise "mechanical" feel..So I booted that big Gorilla. I need a drummer that can play to a click..period!

Oh yeah, High Speed Death roll was something I nor Ty has ever done before..so we gave a stab..cool to know we can do it...tho it's not for everyone [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

But is not often we get to hear clips of amps like the Uber..not maxed anyways..everyone says "I'm Nuts" to max the gain , and sound like shit. I backed it off for shits and giggles, and I'll be damned if I can't get a authentic JMP tone out of that thing..Like "flick of the switch" ac/dc..not that it matters to me..but it can do it!!! [img]/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img]

If I cut back the bass and gain in half and added a SPOOGE of effects..echo/phase/verb..it does VH just fine. Ain't Talkin' bout fuckin' love baby..but on steroids!!! [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

You have to remember ONE thing here guys and please don't lose sight of this fact. This is a CHEEZY basement tape..No Andy Sneap producing this fucker..but could you imagine if he did....Hell He can get a Krank to smoke!!!

Thanks Lou , Ty and I work so well together..I throw him a bunch of riffs..he picks the ones he likes ..he arranges them..BOOM a song..and save the other riffs for another tune.

Sometimes what comes easy and Natural is the best..and we have that.

Great stuff. I'd really love to hear your singer in a "real" recording - he sounds like a more pissed off version of the Forbidden guy, with some Tim Aymar in it and as far as phrasing goes, he reminds me a little of Russ Allen doing his more aggressive chest-voice stuff. Excellent.
I like Death Perception and HiSpeed Deathroll best, Father Felon coming in third. I didn't really get into Scapegoat after three runs, but it's definitely a nice song.
The riffing in HSDR screams Forbidden... as do the vocals, which are so pissed off, you gotta love the guy. The slower middle part is also killer... moshing galore.
Death Perception just kicks ass from start to finish. Again lots of late 80s thrash in there, and I love that shit to death.. combined with blastbeats, it can hardly get any better. I'd like to hear the singer doing his more aggressive stuff somewhere in the song though, it sounds just way too cool. Kinda miss a solo on that track, though.
Can't say anything new about Father Felon, except that I liked the solo track. The other songs need some shred, too. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Oh, I have plenty of solos to shove into that stuff. Just wished I had the tracks to do it. I got a very neo classical COB like thing i want to put into Death perception where Ty is sheepishly doing that sing-a-long maidenish thing "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh..Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh" stuff.
