One thing for future participants - do not email me zip files. Do not email me links. Send me your two files to [email protected] , with your screen name and something to let me know it's the guitar only track or the guitar w/backing. Please. It makes things a little easier on me.

I tried to set levels as best I could, but some of them were way low, and some were really at a good healthy volume. Some had a more piercing tone, some had a lot of reverb, etc. I do the best I can, if someone isn't happy with their levels then I apologize. I think everyone kicked ass, and I'm surprised how many had harmonies!

interesting..the blend is a little hard to make out as it sounds like 2 or 3 tracks going at once at times. I'll have to try and figure out how to record to this, it would be fun to partipate in. I didn't see the post until tonight..been working 6 12's at the least all week.

From what I can make out tho.. everyone did a great job. Lotta Yngwie influences there.

Yeah, most of the submissions were pretty layered thick in spots. Still sound good to me though. Can't wait for you to send something in!

Good thing you didnt use mine, cant compete with some of that cool stuff!!!

I'd like to see a smaller one. To be quite honest, the shred thign is great, but im at a point now where I love hearing Gilmour-esque phrasing and such, with a lil shred on the side. I think everyones talents could be more apparent in a slower less "busy" mix.

Maybe thats something I will work on!

I too would like to see something a bit less shredderific for the next one - make folks work on the stuff they normally don't do [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

And that means no sweeping arpeggios over I-IV-V Blues progressions [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Hey man..that was pretty good..lots of shredding goin' on in there..I think I can pick out Pete..but I'm not familiar with some of the other's styles..

Holy crap... we gots some shredders here. Its a difficult track to be creative with. Its very basic and very fast. It pretty much forces you to shred.

I love this place. Shredders everywhere. The thing I like the best about the playing is the aggression. There is a ton of it.
