New versions. Remixed it in Adobe Audition with the Antares Vocal Correction plugin. I also re-did the guitar a little. I came up with some new progressions and did 4 versions - original, all new, original verses/new chorus, and new verses/original chorus - and had her pick the one she liked best. She's trying to decide between these two backings - original chromatic chord progression or new verse/original chorus.
Of course I only had the original chromatic vocal track to lay over it, so the Antares thing works great in some places but can't quite pull it into tune with the chords because they're so far from the originals she sang to.

There's still a timing issue in the choruses that I'm trying to work on without butchering the vocal track. Maybe if I add snare hits on the accent points.

And never mind the guitar flub at the stop - I was trying to decide whether to stop everything or keep the guitar and bass going at the breaks, and did both at once [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Hey Matt, I noticed you titled the recording Laurens Song.
You should change it to Laurens Thong and instead of posting clips or her horrible out of key lifeless whiny no timing voice, you should post pics of her in a thong.
Here is reality bro. She doesn't have a good voice. Its aweful. The only person listening to her voice is the little man in your pants! I love musicians. Especially record producers. Do you have a couch near your recording console?? All in fun bro!! JG

It's really taking shape and is much easier to listen to now. She might not be that great of a singer but give her credit for at least trying. It's coming along nicely.

She's stated before that she'd be happy as a songwriter if she couldn't get to be a singer, and she's got another song that sounds better than this one, but it's still going to take some work.

OK, dude...she is fucking terrible. I mean, world class shit. The song and the production sound pretty good though. The fact that she is a Pentacostal pretty much insures that she will never even have an iota of a chance because those girls certainly don't give head...and this girl would have to suck alot of dick.
