• Brand New Day

Another new one. Enjoy.

http://autumn-frost.com/mp3/BrandNewDay.mp3

I started this one as a bass idea, then did a scratch recording of the bass and solo. Then I tabbed out the bass lines in GuitarPro 3 to get it sounding like I wanted, then added the drums (simple yet effective I think). I then recorded the drum and bass tracks in Audition using the Alesis QSR for the bass and mixed with the SR-16 for the drums.

Then I added the solo and underlying guitar (can't really call it a rhythm per se).
Once all that was done, I went back and learned the bass line as I had tabbed it out and recorded a new bass track with a real bass.
The QSR does a convincing bass sound, but somewhere in one of the voices was a chorus or something that made it sound fake, so rather than dig through 900 menus to find it, I just did it on the bass myself.

I used the black NASL and my recently-acquired C5A bass - again
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
