Bill... interesting that you picked up on that feeling of running away. I wrote this as I was thinking of finally picking up and moving from Texas, and this whole ordeal being out here almost over!

yeahh thats a happy tune realy good layers and production,i love the clean tones you get from your acoustic-you realy nail the recording there!-perfect timing and articulatuon as well! and the melodic lead guitars are the icing on the cake with the tonal range on all instruments being just perfect as to not clash and muddy up the mix=every thing breathes,has its own space!fucking great stuff em!i might get you to mix my stuff in future as you certainly have an ear for it..lol.well done

I don't like it but I will say that I have heard other of your songs that I do like.
Of course I won't just say I don't like it without reasons:
1. The lead guitar is whiney, thin and uninspiring and pales in comparison to the lush and very nicely recorded and played rhythm guitar track. The bends are out of time and not to pitch. It almost sounds like a beginner recorded it.
2. The distorted guitar that comes in half way into the song not only sounds bad.. but some of the chords are out of time and in the wrong key.
3. The techno drum track sounds like its way in the back ground with too much effect. Its also very repetitive. To me it sounds like the drums you get in a $99.00 Walmart Casio keyboard.
Em... I am giving you 2 thumbs down on everything but the rhythm guitar track which is very nicely recorded.
I will say that I am still a fan of yours though!!

The drums are industrial/techno, yes, but not off of a Casio keyboard. Hahaha!

Gtrcollectr: we've only been stationed out here temporarily (military) and will be settling down soon back up north where we belong.
Texas (or rather, upper Mexico) is not for us.

I think you have the right intentions when you recorded it. My "producer" take on it is simple actually (I used to work at power Play Studios as an engineer/guitar tech/co-producer)...
Finger picked acoustic.... very nice, keep it.
I would ditch the left channel lead and re-record something on par with the finger picked acoustic. Maybe even a finger picked lead.
Ditch the rhythm electric all together. It adds nothing.
Take the reverb off of the drums and bring them up in the track so that they sound more.. "intimate" and real.
Hmm... intimate techo/industrial drum tracks???
Maybe I just invented something!
Anyway... your a kick ass writer and if I didn't think so I wouldn't have sent a torpedo your way on this one!
