    I like it
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Thanks. I'm using the ZOOM MRS-8 and then dumping the tracks into MixCraft for mixdown.

Sounds good to me. The rhythm kind of has a King Diamond feel to it

I just finished updating a newer version. Same song but lots of nuiances have changed. I'd like to know if this sounds professional to you guys or if it's the obvious work of an amateur. Thanks!! --Dan

Sounds nice, but the drums sound a bit too far behind everything else.

Of course that also depends on what type of mix you're going for.

Overall the mix reminds me of older Sabbath (Paranoid, etc) or older Iron Maiden (Number, Piece Of Mind, etc). Not the "dramatic stereo" everyone's doing nowadays where it's supposed to sound like you're right there in the middle of the band, but again that depends on personal preference.

Cool, thanks. I can live with Sabbath and Maiden comparisons.

Now you're getting an X-Japan mix, which is most-excellent!

However, something happened to your drums at 1:31-1:40 - they lost all their "oomph" and all you hear are "piks" (the kick drum and toms - all you hear is the beater hitting the head, like the head is blown).

And one last bit of advice - the bass tone is too muffled for those riffs. Try adding some high-mids to get a Geddy Lee / Steve Harris thang.

Between 1:31 and 1:40, I was going for a muted feel. Guess it didn't come off that way. I did the same thing later in the song after the lead. I'll work on the bass. Thanks. Now I'm off to check out some of your songs.
