  • JSX ozzy clip

SM57 on a 85 watt celestion loaded JCM800 marshall 4x12. Used an ESP MII with Duncan JB. JSX Ultra Channel. Surprisingly quiet too, I'm amazed I can't hear my strings over the amp.

Thanks for the clip. I'm becoming more interested in the JSX amp over my TSL.

Thanks guys. I'm trying to remember the settings - I believe it was master at under 1 (where totally maxed out is 10 - it was barely on) Resonance 10, presence 4, treble 6, bass 7, mids 4, gain 5, ultra channel.

Also was using a pair of EL84s with yellowjackets.

wow that sounds amazingly clear and crisp for having the volume so low.

We just started carrying Peavey at work and of course i had to check it out. The uilt in noise gate actually works and doesnt suck the tone. Its an extremely versatile amp and sounds killer. Even clean. I like it alot and im not really a Peavey fan.

Thanks guys. The JSX is a great low volume amp IMHO. It also sounds good loud too, but I really don't think it makes as much difference on a good master volume amp as say an old Marshall - you HAVE to use an attenuator or crank those to get the goods!

I thought I heard the difference....The YJ's thin out the tone on th e treble side. Its weied I cna like them whn live in the rom but they record with too much treble to me anyways

Pete, sorry for the late response..I was in mid-post when you originally posted this and ..but poofed during a power blackout..

                              Very NICE as always..

This clip is not far removed from my beloved Marshall tone..9200 w 5881s/JMP-1..very warm and smooth gain, with "lively" harmonics and definition..to my ears..we both go for a classic VH tone..so that's probably why.

The JSX covers alot of sonic ground as you displayed..as well has much "heavier" metal styles ala Nevermore, Arch Enemy, Iced Earth ect..

Your opinions are credible..I always said that.

The JSX truly delivers the goods no matter what style you're going for..the BEST bang for the buck PERIOD..IMO!!!

After all these years the 5150/6505 takes second...the JSX is more defined and focused than a 5150 and the lead tones are more "alive" ..and it has a better clean channel and much more versatlity..The JSX is Peavey's flagship..no doubt in my mind!!

Now, I wish I could test drive the Avenger...
